Compaq TC1100 : Wlan only with power adapter...

My Wlan doesn't work on battery, only when the power adapter is
connected, in runs without problems. Why? I don't need a tablet PC if
I have to wire it...

Check for a shutoff switch for the wireless system. That switch allows you
to save battery power when you aren't using the wireless connection and are
on battery.

Check your settings in Device Manager/Network Adapters. You've probably got
a setting there to shut it down when on battery. Either that, or look in
Power Options in Control Panel.
