You should put it out the window in order to function properly. the process of dehumidifying is actually like squeezing a sponge out that is full of water if you just dont put the duct out the window you are likely just dumping humidity right back into the room and accomplishing nothing but the use of power and wear and tear on your equipment. hope this helps good luck.
Note from a Heating and Air Service company owner - Always have annual regular service done on your systems by a pro to keep it operation at peak efficiency and to catch a possible worn or dated component before it breaks on the hottest or coldest day of the year. Don't always assume its just some guy trying to sell you something. More than 9 out of 10 contractors are really there to help you.

Ac exhaust fan

Yes for dehumidifier, no for heat mode. In dehumidifier mode all the unit does is takes air in, runs it through the evaporator (cold) coil and the back through the condenser (warm) coil discharging dry, slightly warmer air back into the room. In heating mode however if you don't vent the exhaust there will be no heat produced. Warm air will come out the top but cold air will also come out the exhaust (essentially, in heating mode all it does is operates as an air conditioner in reverse. Hope this helps.

We do not have a window in the room this need to be installed in. Does the window installation kit allow us to install the pipe that goes outside through our exterior wall of the house? Like a dryer vent...

I think you probably could. As most manufacturers of portable AC units allow for this. It's what called a semi -permanent installation . The dryer duct idea will work if the shaft part of the dryer duct is the same diameter as the window mount duct and the shaft of the dryer duct is long enough to go thru the wall and leave enough for the AC Exhaust Duct to hook to. Be sure that the flap door of the dryer duct moves freely and will not get stuck in the closed position. That could be a big problem if it does.
Keep in mind, you will not be able to add any length the AC duct hose. It must remain the same.

Hope this helped answer your question and things for choosing FixYa.

WINDOW AIR HAS A DEHUMIDIFY ON IT. IF THAT SETTING IS ON, WILL IT COOL THE ROOM OR JUST TAKE OUT HUMIDITY?

Just take the humidity out. Even if you could operate both modes at the same time, the AC side would struggle, because dehumidify mode generates heat.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

What would cause this AC Unit to not be able to cool a room of 264 sq ft even if left on all night, and then during the day it loses its cooling capacity?

A couple of things could cause that problem;

1. A dirty or clogged air intake filter. Remove, check and clean the filter if necessary.

2. The unit is operating in Dehumidifier Mode rather than AC Cooling mode. Check the settings on the control panel. If in Dehumidify Mode, the AC will not turn ON, but the fan blower will remain ON.

3. A clogged exhaust hose to the window. Remove the hose and check for obstructions.

4. The temperature setting on the Control Panel may accidentally be set to high. Check the temperature setting.

The 4- things listed above are where you need to start troubleshoot the unit. If One of the is not the problem, the compressor may need a recharge of refrigerant. Depending on how old the unit is.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me j=know. Thanks.

Why does the manual say not to put the air duct to the window when in the dry mode (dehumidifier)?

When you put the duct into the window you are sending the heat outside causing the unit to cool the house. When you run in the dry mode you need the heat to come back into the room keeping the room the same temp. This is how normal dehumidifiers work.

Heat exhaust for the LG Dehumidifier LHD45ELY7

I have not resolved the issue yet.
I don't like getting into a web site, filling out a form with info and then after a click or two, find out I have to pay.
I'm sure you have experts that are very good, but I can't afford to join up with everything that run across. I'm sure it says that you have to pay on the first page, but I didn't see it.
Maybe some other time.
So, I'll just keep working at the problem until I get it.
Thanks.

Thru the wall AC units(small)

If the Ac unit can not fit your window, you can put a wall unit, you don’t have to open the wall and mount a stable unit, you just need to buy a portable AC unit put on.

This way cost you not too much.

Danby dpac7008 portable air conditioner

I want to know how these portable air conditioners are supposed to be set up. Do they have to be on the same as the window out of which the hose goes? If the window is 4.5 feet off the ground, does the air conditioning unit need to be put on a table to make it and the window on the same level?

To the best of my knowledge the unit can stay on the floor and included the product features listed below and it does have a dehumidifier reservoir with direct drain and to make sure if you use the drain hose that the hose is higher than the item that you are draining the water into or you can elevate the unit so that the hose can drain outside and out the window - but you can also drain the water into a bucket or some thing that will hold water. I hope this will help you…..

Dehumidifier frosts up

A dehumidifier will often frost up if room temperatures are colder than about 65 degrees F. If your room temperature isn't this cold, airflow to the unit may be restricted or blocked entirely. 1) Be sure the unit is set far enough from the wall so that airflow isn't restricted. 2) Clean the evaporator coils. To do this, unplug the dehumidifier and take off the outer cover. Allow excess moisture to evaporate from the coils. Then, using a brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner, remove all dust buildup. If necessary, cover the motor and electrical parts with plastic sheeting and spray with water.
