Try This :
Connect the printer directly to the wall outlet ; not through any Power strip
Then Unplug the Power cable from the back of the printer
Keep on tapping the power cable for next 30 seconds
Plug in back the power cable;
Open the rear access door and you will get to see some rollers
Clean the rollers with a Lint free cloth Moistened with some distilled water
Try to do a copy if still it doesn works
Then Unplug the Power cable from the back of the printer
With one hand press and hold down the (#) and the (6) button and with the other hand plug in back the power cable ; it will do a Semifull reset on the printer; This will take some time ; Follow the instruction on the screen;
If still it doesn't work then you need to contact HP ;
The toll free no. for HP would be : 1-800-474-6836
They will replace the printer for you free of cost (No Charge if the printer is in warranty i.e within 1 yr of purchase)

OK, the problem is not the roller cleaning, I stop wasting my time on that.
It's the design flawed paper feeding roller gears, which is housed over the paper loader.
You cant visually see it, but you can feel it with your fingers over the top of where the paper sits in the tray.
It will slide up and down a thin mettle rod that should hold it in place....but often times it doesn't.
When that happens it's usually's a rap, it lightly strip the gears that is on the device that's connected to the paper feeder, that has the two rollers at the end of each side, that falls on the paper to advance it into the back pick up location for the paper. That device also has in line teath gears that turn one another as well....Hummmm. Repair is probably as much as investing in a new printer.
It's a bad design that needs to be redone.

Paper mismatch officejet 6500 crumples

There could be a foreign object or torn piece of paper that's stuck further inside the printer mechanism path. Try using a flashlight and inspecting any access or clean out hatches. Sometimes something will be caught inside and cause the paper you feed in to crumple and create a jam. I watched a video on youtube giving different ideas on how to fix this problem. Paper jammed

Lift up the upper section of the printer (just like you were going to replace an ink cartridge) and look for the smallest torn piece of paper hiding in the gears. Then tip up and gently remove the top (black) paper tray assembly and remove any paper in the tray. Grab a flash light and check the "in" feed area.

Put it all back together and hit "start copy". If noting still clears the jam unplug the printer (power cord) from the wall, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in.

Hopefully that clears the paper Jam message.
If not call HP Support Center @ 1-866-408-5408. They're available 24/7.

My hp officejet 6500's cartridge will not move at all and it is giving me a paper jam message. but after close examination, there was no paper jammed anywhere in the printer.

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

HP 8500 all in one printer: error 0x61011bef

0x61011bef is a general error that the chipset in the printer gives instead of a "carriage jam " error message.

Double check inside the printer as well to ensure that there is no bits and peices stuck insde the printer where the carriage assembly ( where the printheads sit) check to make sure that moves freely.
as well as clean the rollers on the back of the printer... silly yes but it has been know to cause an error if there is built up paper dust on them
