I am trying to hook up my surround sound and I think I have it but I cannot figure out how to switch from the internal speakers to the external speakers, Please advise........
REAR SPEAKER Output Terminals These terminals are used to connect external speakers, which are used for the surround sound feature. The volume level is controlled by the television's main volume. These speaker output terminals can be turned on and off in the THEATER-SPEAKER SETUP menu. Use speakers with 8-Ohm impedance only. (page 12 of the manual)
The entire manual will show you how to set it up. If you have any additional concerns - please use the "Continue With This Expert" option so we are connected in the future.

My Hitachi dinosaur television picture goes off and on for no reason. It goes to a complete black screen and then comes back on. It does this periodically. Do you have any ideas? Is this major? Should we just buy a new one. We love this one the picture is beautiful.. We thought it was our satellite system until we hooked up another television to the system.. So now we know it is our television. Oh, and the television shows it is on when the picture disappears. Their is no sound either..just a black screen. No error messages or anything like that. At times it does it when a commercial comes on, then comes back on after the commercial is over.

intermittent sound loss on both internal and external channels. The sound works for a while and then just cuts out. Sometimes it comes back when changing between sources; sometimes it does not return until the TV is shut down for an hour or so. Sound usually comes on when TV is first turned on - but not every time. The time before it disappears is random, but it always occurs eventually.

i have a hitachi dlp television model/serial 61swx10b The sound has slowly began to come and go at random, and at this point will not come back on at all. I only have a dvd player hooked up right now (no cable yet just moved into house) so cannot tell if it is dvd player, however, used to work just fine. only thing i have tried is switching audio inputs (with no luck) and also the sound from my dvd player works fine on my older tube television. If the speakers are blown out (if that is the problem), will a surround sound restore sound. Some insight would be fantastic, Thank you
