If it has been that long since you ran it you will most likley need to flush and clean the fuel system. clean the carb thourely. as for the firing problem pull the recoil cover and see if the flywheel has any rust on it. if it does take some heavy course sandpaper and clean it. if thats not it check the off and on switch and be sure that its working correctly. if that dont do the trick let me know at my email jdlipscomb41@gmail.com. thanks jd

My 99 durango will start up but u have to give it gas to stay running same when pulling down in gear

Change the gas filter. If car sat for 2 years without being started, the gas could be stale Put fuel system cleaner in gas tank. The car may need a double dose.

I received bad gas, so far they had to change my oil, fluid pump, spark plug and my car still want stay started! The bill is increasing yet they dont know what

Oil changes have nothing to do with your car not starting. You obviously want to keep it changed every 3,000 miles but changing it monthly wont make your car run better. i would suggest you take it to a dealer where they will actually diagnose and fix the problem instead of just throwing parts at it. I know dealerships have a reputation of being expensive but many times, in a situation like this, it is cheaper to go there and have it fixed correctly the first time rather than going to a "shade tree mechanic" who is just guessing and slapping parts on, at your expense, hoping he/she solves the problem. Good Luck!

My bike has sat for one year. I bought a new battery one year ago and drove it from my old apartment to my current one. The bike has not been started for one year. I got a used gas tank on ebay and...

Ok mate few things to consider here, if the bike has been non started and stationary for a year there is a very good chance that one of the following or all of the following has occurred.
Your battery is dead (they don't like just sitting - doesn't matter new or old, if left for extensive time they will die) Your gear / motor oil would be useless - oil can not just sit in bottom of bike for a year it would be glue
Your carbi would be blocked or partially blocked from fuel gum or varnish in jets
If you like this bike I highly recommend oil and filter change, New spark plug (put about 10 drops of oil down the spark plug hole before you put new spark plug back in to lube the piston) clean air filter (or fit new one) Remove carbi and compressed air clean all jets especially the pilot jet and circuit and stick in a new battery
Once all done for the fist start I would find a nice safe hill and push start it. in my experience under this circumstances if you rely on the electric starter you may find you burn it out trying to start so give at least few minutes running motor to flush everything through before trying to electric start would be your best bet
When you get it going I would dump the oil and oil filter again after 2 hours ride time to confirm all the old expired oil is flushed out - just to be safe
good luck regards Jamie

Dump the gas tank out, put fresh gas in. Put a new battery. Try to get it started. Run it for a min., then change oil. Test your brakes and check your tires.

it sits for 2 years so you have to general check and clean everything, first replace the battery, spark plugs oil filter(if any) have your oil change, clean and balance your carburator and air cleaner, remove your gas tank empty it and clean use new gas, if you can spray an WD40 on all wiring socket then start the bike

Car not starting.. want say anything.. only light come on the dash

if the car has sat for 3 years then there is a LOT that you need to do before starting it.

!. The gas needs to be drained and fresh gas needs to be put in.
2. plugs need to be changed
3. Battery will probably need recharging or replacing
4. the oil needs to be drained and changed.

More than likely the issue is your battery but startig that car with out at least changing the oil and getting the old gas out will be VERY harmful to your engine.
