How do i clean the Whirlpool Gold american collection top loading washing machine? I can see no filter to remove and the inside of the tub is getting dirty. The holes inside the tub at the top seem to be clogging up. Is there a proper way to go about cleaning it or can I just give it a scrub with bleach?

Dumped even more HOT HOT HOT water while poking around inside dispenser. Softener dispenser suddenly became unclogged and water began running out of the opening showing me that the dispenser was indeed clogged with softener buildup.

Washing machine is not completing spin cycle at high speeds. Only goes slow speed tumble for a few times and then stops.

Below is for Whirlpool/Kenmore, u might find it helpful. Some machines have a small trap door on left front bottom, coin trap.

The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a good plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully. Check your pump too, comes after the filter.

On some models the filter is located ‘inside’ the big hose from the bottom of the tub. This takes more time to clean.

Washing machine model 110:23032102 is retaining

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.23032102&pathTaken=partSearch

and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

See the section for the basket and tub assembly's

I'd pull the cabinet in order to get to the hoses going to and from the pump first.

See the following:

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=131

I'd check the hoses for blockage, check the shaft from the motor to the pump and check inside the pump to make sure the inlet and outlet aren't blocked.

Inside the washing machine "tub" there is a black scummy ring at the top....can't get rid off. Seems like its a rubber ring that is disintegrated.

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

If you look at the section for the Agitator and Tub, you should see a part called the Tub Seal. This could be what is disintegrated.

See the following for how to remove the cabinet and Tub Ring in order to get to it.

Sears has part numbers for either the complete tub ring and gasket or just the gasket.

My washing machine will not spin

The same thing happened to my Maytag washing machine and the first thing I checked was the air pressure hose. A small piece of tubing that ran from the bottom of the tank to the indicator for size of load. Could either be blocked or detached at one end. To access it I had go to the back of the machine. I found the diagram on the web when I search for model and "agitator not spinning". Good luck.

My towels always smell sour...it doesn't matter what detergent or fabric softener I use. I have the Whirlpool Duet front loading machine and dryer.

Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a good plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Next run your washer with 2 cups of bleach, hot water. After it starts agitating stop the washer & let it remain for 2 hours. Then continue the wash.

Code f02

FO2 is the code for long drain. The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a bunch of towels, a good big plastic bag or a wet vac to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully.

Lint Filter in Whirlpool Agitator washing Machine

I have a regular top loader and the lint filter is on the underside of the inner tub. You have to remove the inner tub to get to it. You might be able to find a service manual explaining this at appliancejunk.com.
