Computer POST and beep codes
The computer power on self test (POST) will test your computer to make sure it can boot properly(test hardware and sys requirements), once it does the computer will then finish the boot process. Normally, if your computer passes the POST test it will beep once or possibly twice. If the computer fails the POST then it will either not beep at all or generate a beep code.

The beep code you receive can indicate what may be wrong with your computer. The beep codes vary depending on your motherboard BIOS manufacturer(AMI, Award, Phoenix). You can find what BIOS you are using by paying attention to the BIOS screen when your computer boots up. It should tell you what brand BIOS.

You can usually find the meaning of your beep code by doing a simple google search i.e "phoenix beep codes". Below, I have provided links to sites which go over beep codes and their respective meaning.

AMI BIOS Beep Codes
Award BIOS Beep Codes
Phoenix BIOS Beep Codes

Hello here is the homepage:

Here is a list of beep codes:

Tree beeps means you have a ram module failure, or not inserted correctly.

This mainboard uses DDR3 ram, up to 16 gb.

Try to start with only one module at the time.

Try also to check the manual:

You would need to look at the BIOS manufacturers site for the beep code and it's meaning. You can also pull all the hardware out, memory HDD, CD/DVD and boot if you no longer get the error, power down and add one component back and boot. Repeat until you get the beep code again and you will know what the problem part is.

X58 pro e hard to cold start

Three long beeps may signify a keyboard error, and 3 short may refer to memory error. These are best guesses, because MSI uses several BIOS manufactures. Test your RAM one chip at a time to help isolate bad dimm.

Getting 3 beeps on my MSI 870-G45 motherborad

If they're happening during POST (After the bios screen loads but before the OS boots), it could mean a memory error. Also, it can depend on the length. If they're three short beeps, it's the memory. Long and short combinations mean different things as well. You can find a good description of different beep codes in the source.

You can verify a memory error using memtest86+. It's a burnable ISO you can easily find on google. Turn it on and let it go and it will let you know if any tests fail. If they do, it could just be one of your cards. Try taking one of the cards out and turning the computer on to see if it still beeps. If it does, switch cards. Also try putting them in different slots. Usually the combination of switching cards/slots will let you know if it's a bad card, or a bad slot.

Computer will not boot. Beep error code is 2-2-3. Problem? Motherboard is micro star MS-9121 in an ibm intellistation

Hello the download site is here:

http://www.msi.com/product/server/E7505-Master-L-Series.html#/?div=Driver&os=XP%2032

Here you find the manual:

http://www.msi.com/product/server/E7505-Master-L-Series.html#/?div=Manual

Please select your windows system.
And unzip the file before you can use it:

A 1-2-2-3 beep code pattern means that there has been a BIOS ROM checksum error. Literally, this would indicate an issue with the BIOS chip on the motherboard. Since replacing a BIOS chip is often not possible, this Phoenix BIOS issue is usually corrected by replacing the entire motherboard.

More codes here:

Good luck

MSI Motherboard: weird beep code, doesn't work with graphics card

The beeping that you hear are bios codes. These codes are designed to tell you what is wrong or at least point you in the right direction.

It is helpful to list the bios that you are using so that you can find the codes for your bios. here is a site that could be usefull to you and one of the codes that you mention say to reseat the ram or replacing the CPU.
