Well this scanner is not the one you want.

Depending on your desired resolution, any flatbed that accepts 8x10's
might work. I don't know if the resolution would be up to snuff.

I've thought about this with 35mm slides, but just haven't done it yet. (I would use a different scanner though)

Just bought it at thrift shop, new never used, no instructions, How do I use? can I use it on any scanner?

No these only fit on epson scanners due to the specific plug on the attached cable.you need and epson most models from 1200 series,1600 or 2400 series or 3600 will accept the transparency adapter.i have an old 1640 series that has one of these adapters.you can source a cheap scanner off eBay and download the drivers off epson site.then attach the scanner AFTER you install the software and it will find the scanner and connect to computer.Epson do provide a good scanning program as part of the download.you will need to choose negative or positive to scan.higher spec scanners have built in transparency hoods and can scan at higher resolutions.quite honestly if you are okay with say 6x4 inch prints a basic scanner is fine if it scans at least 2400 dpi.

I am using the Epson Perfection V700 photo scanner to scan dental xrays. Sometimes the xrays come out perfect, other times I get streaks across the image. Sometimes the streaks are colored, othertimes...

You have to use the "FILM AREA GUIDE" included with the scanner. This black plastic guide leaves a small area at the top of the glass open so that the scanner can calibrate itself at the start of each scan. Use the guide or leave at least 8mm between the top of your film and the top of the scanner glass.

I am looking for instructions on this product.

Step 1: Open the scanner lid and remove the Transparent Materials Adapter (TMA).
Step 2: Place your slides or negatives into the appropriate template. Follow the orientation indicated by the icons on the template.
Step 3: Tip: If you are scanning fewer than the maximum number of negatives with the TMA, cover the empty spaces with the provided light shields to avoid letting any extra light in
Step 4: Place the template on the scanner glass, aligning the arrow on the template with the indicated mark on the scanner bed.
Step 5: Close the scanner lid and press the Scan Film button (or select the Scan Film option if you're using the HP Solution Center application on your PC).
Step 6: In the Scanning from dialog box, click Change Settings.
Step 7: Under Scan Shortcut Settings, select your Scan Type (either Negatives (TMA) or Slides or Positives (TMA)).
Step 8: Under Scan To select Save to file. Then click Scan.
Step 9: Under the Save Location dialog box, click Browse and enter the destination folder of your choice. Click OK and follow any on-screen instructions to finish scanning. The scan will be sent to the destination folder you selected. s.gif s.gif

Scanner won't turn on

Hi,
Try to test the power cord of the scanner (cable from scanner to outlet) using multitester if there is an electricity or if you have extra power cord test it. Maybe that's the defect. If that's not the problem it is now the scanner itself, have it for the repair man or technician.
Thanks

You can't scan xrays unless you have a scanner capable of scanning film, which requires a film attachment.

it could be a couple things without looking at it. one, the one you got also is bad.
two, the bent prints from the first one, may have ruined the interface boared on the scanner.
three, are you sure you have it setup for the transparency.
four, the bulb could bad on the transparancy adapter.
