Husqvarna YTH2348 stalls after 20mins

Two issues, possibly related.
Less than 100 hours on motor

1. Have to keep charging battery. Had it checked at a local auto parts store, checked OK. Suspect bad charging system. I have not put a meter to it ...yet.

2. Unit runs apprx. 20-30 minutes just fine then suddenly acts as if it's starving for fuel and stalls. Usually starts right back up with full choke, but stalls once transmission is engaged. Battery usually too weak to restart more than twice (30 minutes after recieving a full charge). Replaced fuel filter, inspected gas cap, appears OK. Suspect I may have to replace the spark plug and clean the carb. AND address the charging system

Can these 2 issues be related or am I not even in the ball park? Your opinions welcomed. Thanks!

Thank you Mowerman for the quick response. Yes you are correct Briggs 23hp

Fully charged the battery 12vdc. Cranked right up 13.5-14vdc at battery on full throttle... a good sign!

Engaged the electric blade clutch engine bogged down and stalled without any load on the blades. Battery voltage down to 11.7vdc. Will not turn starter. 4.5 vdc when trying to start. New battery in order despite what the auto parts store said, yes?

First thing to do is check and repair charging system. They are/could be related problems in that there is an electric fuel shut off solenoid on the carburetor and if the battery is going dead, it could be cutting off the fuel flow. I wouldn't worry about the spark plug or cleaning the carburetor just yet.
Put a meter on the battery terminals, run the engine at full speed and check the voltage, If you are not getting around 13,5 volts going back to the battery, repair/replace the charging system. If it is less than 2 years old, it should still be under warranty so you might want to check with your dealer. I am guessing that it is a B&S 23 HP and replacing the alternator can be expensive and time consuming

How many batteries and what size do I need for 3000 watt inverter, want to run a 1/4 hp sump pump

There is quite a lot of "that depends" in the answer.

That depends on how long you need to run the pump, whether it to be run in short bursts with long gaps or long bursts with short gaps or run continuously. That depends on whether any battery charging is carried out while in use, solar for instance.

That depends on whether the 1/4 hp is the input of the motor or the output. Some motors are rated one way and some the other. If the motor output is 1/4 hp, the input has to be more due to the relative inefficiency.
If the motor input is the equivalent of 1/4 hp the output will be less and it might be your motor might not be able to do the work adequately or for long enough.
A 1/4 hp input motor will consume 1/4 of 746 watts
A 1/4 hp output motor will consume 1/4 of 746 watts X the motor inefficiency, say, 130% which is a consumption of almost 250 watts.

That depends on the efficiency of your inverter.
Inverters aren't particularly efficient though great leaps forward have been made in this over early models, the inefficiency can't be ignored.
If the inverter efficiency was 100% the 250 watts the motor requires will require a current flow from the battery of about 21 amps but allow a notional inefficiency of the inverter similar to that of the motor that becomes around 27 amps.

There can be no definite answers until those questions are answered and it is best to provide wide safety margins to allow for falling battery capacities as they age. It is also best to assume the rated battery capacity is half of the actual due to the efficiency quickly falling off after the terminal voltage has fallen to half charge.

These understandably are rough figures. A fully charged battery of 100 AH (amp hour), considering the desirability of not allowing the battery to fall below half charge, will power the pump continuously for around two hours. Running the motor in bursts can extend the time considerably.

The batteries will need to be traction or deep cycle types rather than vehicle batteries but even such batteries will suffer a shortened life if the recharging is not carefully managed - frequently topping up the charge level of a partially discharged battery is infinitely more desirable than a less frequent complete recharge.

I hope this helps...

My YTH2348 mower won't turn over power comes on but that's it!

1. Check battery connections are clean and tight
2. Check the battery is FULLY charged, test with a car battery and jump leads to see if engine will start OK.
3. If it still won't start then you will need to check the starter solenoid with a voltmeter - this will also tell you if the ignition switch is working OK.
4. Still no luck? Then you need to check the starter motor.

What's your problem?i got a problem with the battery of my zte can i keep it charged at less one day? takes 2 hour to stay uncharged

If the cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and graduallythe charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The batteryshows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops offto zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptablecharge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

My hp pavilion dv4 laptop's battery cannot sustain even for 1 hour.please give some ideas to maintain the battery and is there any remedy for this issue. Also which is better among, using laptop always...

If the battery appears to be charging, the drop in the time it sustains power is likely due to a faulty or old battery. Eventually it will appear 100% charged and drop to zero in 5 minutes or less. I would think you need to replace the battery.

If you want to maintain the battery properly, it is best to remove it once fully charged and use on ac power alone. If using the laptop on battery, remove the AC connection and allow the battery to fully discharge before recharging it ( there is some debate on this method, other may disagree)
