Reboot the computer in "safe mode with networking" by rebooting the machine and during the manufactures name screen, tap the F8 key and you will see the muli-boot menu come up. Safe mode usually loads a resolution the video card and monitor agree on. You may have corrupt video drivers that give the black screen. While in safe mode, go online to windows update and let it scan your system, choose custom installation and look for the optional updates, these will be the hardware drivers you need to update your system. Check them all if you like and let windows install them automatically. Once done reboot normally and see if that clears the problem.

How to make my fonts smaller

Quick answer - not specifically to change font size, but to change whole screen size
The whole screen size can be magnified (zoom in) by simultaneously pressing CNTRL + ; the reverse operation (zoom out - what you want I think) is performed by CNTRL - (press cntl and + keys simultaneously)

Or change (increase) the resolution of the screen by right clicking a blank a blank area of the desktop and selecting 'screen resolution' in Windows 7 or in XP one the tabs similarly labeled, and increasing resolution if not at max already.

I am using the Hyundai Image Question L70s and I

Push F8 while it boots up. With safe mode change resolution of the screen. Reboot to hopefully see the screen. Next time you change the resolution of the screen if you cannot see the screen do not touch it. The computer puts up a question, can you see this. With a blank screen, you just wait and the screen returns back. If you can see it then accept the question.

I have a Samsung SuncMaster 940BW 19'' LCD Monitor. It's a geat Monitor in my humble opinion in everything, except that since i got it i have one problem with it, and it wasnt possible for me...

This is a common problem with monitors when changing resolution. What probably happened is you may have tried to change the resolution, or an application changed the resolution, to an incompatible resolution.

For example, if you have a tiny little screen it can't display that huge resolution that a 32 inch monitor has. So, your monitor is stuck in that wrong resolution.

To fix this problem, you need to boot into Safe Mode. Restart your computer, and as it is booting up tap F8 a bunch of times, and then select Boot into Safe Mode.

When it boots up, right click on the desktop, click Properties (Windows XP) or Screen Resolution (Windows 7). When the window pops up, click Settings (if on Windows XP, if on Windows 7 skip to next step). From this window, change the resolution back to the basic 800 x 600 screen resolution.

Now, reboot your computer normally. You should be able to see the desktop. Now, you can do the same thing that you did in safe mode and turn up your resolution. BUT, when you change it, if the screen goes BLANK again, DO NOT press anything. After 15 seconds it should go back, and you can try a lower resolution.

Hope this helps! Thanks for using FixYa.

I hooked my ps3 to the hdmi connection in the back, neither the system or the tv recognize the connection, i get a blank screen.I know the hdmi cable is good because I tested it.Any suggestions?

It could be that the PS3 is outputting a higher resolution than your TV can handle. Here is an excerpt from the PS3 manual:
If the video output settings do not match those required for the TV in use, the screen may go blank when the resolution is changed. The screen should, however, automatically go back to its original resolution after a while. If the screen remains blank for more than 30 seconds, turn off the system. Then touch the power button on the system front for at least five seconds to turn the system on again. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution.

I tried to change the setting of screen to 768 x 1024, when I did it the screen went blank and I can´t set it back.

Hi , Your PC Monitor cannot handle that resolution then, when a Monitor Changes resolution , and you do not click Save Settings ,after resolution has changed , it should automatically change back within 15 seconds...This could be a Driver or PC related error....Otherwise try not too use that resolution

I cant read my yahoo mail it reads blank screen and the template comes up but it is totally blank

'Opening page about:blank' problem is not caused by a virus, trojan, or anything like that! Yahoo have been making changes to the appearance of their home page and also their e-mail. As a result, the screen resolution of 800 x 600 on many PCs will no-longer allow you to sign in. Try changing your screen resolution to 1024 x 768
