Question about Car Audio & Video
Im a new use to this service - so sorry if the answer is already out there somewhere in this forum..... I have tried looking but havent found anything useful yet (and you may not be able to help)... just hoping not to have to go back to the dealership as they love to rip us off!
The battery was flat and CD/radio wont function at all now... needs SAFE CODE and we werent given the code card on purchase of the car a couple of years ago (and it ispossible the previous owener could have chnged it?)
This is all the info off the top panel of the unit:-
nO.: 20 441 224
type: cdr2005 (e)
MADE IN GERMANY
Looks like 2 serial nos (?)
Top barcode: 9022 214 09755 08
Bottom barcode: 003 0248 1631679
Any help/suggestion appreciated :)
Your radio is made be SIEMENS/VDO and nfortunately the majority of SIEMENS/VDO codes (including yours) will NOT be available for free (or cheap) from anywhere on the Internet as access is required to the original factory database…which is not commercially available..
Try your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Shop (who are normally the cheapest option) who will connect it to a laptop to electronically read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
