Take the bottom panel off and unplug the unit. You will see the motor in the front. Put a screwdriver in the fan and try turing it. If it feels like a lot of resistance, keep trying to turn it. If it doesn't turn after a few minutes, then the motor needs to be replaced.
sounds like a sticky or broken valve. these units have electronically operated valves to control water flow. its very likely that one of these has failed.

OUr Bosch SCE44c05 has been running a lot longer than normal...it ran for 4 hours today, I came home to find it still running, and with 1 minute left, a few minutes later, time left was back up to 22 minutes and the water was still soapy. any insight? Thanks much!

The dishes in the bottom are mostly clean but nothing in the top rack is clean. The water tube to the middle spray arm is not obstructed. There's no debris in the filter. We've had this dw almost 9 yrs, and it has never impressed me. We'll be shopping for a new one in the spring when the federal rebate is available in RI. To get us through the next few months, though, I'm hoping I can figure out (and fix without calling a service co) the cause of the current/new problem.
