Question about Sceptre X7G-Naga 17" LCD Monitor

Open Question

Thin bright red vertical line from top to bottom of screen

I have a scetre 17" x7g, not even a year old and just recently a thin red bright line on the right hand side of the screen appears from top to bottom of the screen and will not go away. Is this considered a type of defect and can I return it for a replacement?

Thanks so much for your help and or response.

SOURCE: Sceptre X7g Monitor Flashing Red & Blue Lights. Blank Screen

i fixed this problem by unplugging the monitor, unplugging the video cables. Then hold down the power button while plugging it back in. Release power button and then press power button for on. It worked then. I got the icon for no signal, i plugged back in my monitors. Sceptre X9W

SOURCE: I have a X42 Komodo

That is the TFT (Thin Film Transistor) drive stuck on due to bad transistor or the IC driving it or bad tab connection.

Order of the connectors on the X7G-NAGAVI?

OK, you will have four connectors (each one with pink and white wires), there are two set of the connectors, two are above the transformer, two below the transformer. The monitor uses four lamps, two for the top side of the screen, two for the bottom side of h screen. You can plug either one of the pair of the connector to the top group of the connector, same for the bottom group of the connectors.

CRT Monitor Displays only a thin bright horizontal line

Vertical IC loose connection. Best is to reflux it or resolder. It is in internal circuitry inside the monitor commonly an upside single line IC.

And its a minor repair only. But I recommend it to be serviced by a qualified technician. Inside it are plenty of nasty voltages. It might caught you.

Shows half screen only!

if you can't expand your screen size from the pulldown menu or vertically or horizontally center the picture one or two of the centering coils could be partially burned out. the monitor uses electromagnets around the crt neck to center the picture. varying the center controls apply or take away voltage from the coils to center the image. may be time for a new monitor

Thin red vertical line length of screen(right side)

Your Display cable (inside your monitor) needs to be replaced.

I would look on ebay to try and find the part and then take it to a local tech to replace it for you as I would not recommend anyone take apart a monitor (LCD OR CRT) if you had never done so before.

OR, Buy a new monitor.
