Newbie Question Ive recently installed a new motherboard. I just finished installing my network drivers, but i cant seem to get my internet working. I can connect to the network, but it says there is "Limited or no Connectivity" and i cant surf the web or anything. When i rightclick on the connection, then click "repair" it says.. " Windos could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: Renewing your IP adress" I cant seem to figure out what is wrong, and help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks!

Try to check your utp cable because there might be a problem on this. the both end should match just like for example if one end is yellow the other end should also be yellow next green the other end should also be green if you were the one who crimped your utp cable. if you think ther is no problem in your connectors then you proceed to command prompt (run) type cmd then enter then type ipconfig/all then press enter, then ping your default gateway

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Dell vostro 1310 problem plzzz help

easy way.... go to internet options and restore it all to default, and set security to med. apply and test.

harder way... update ALL LAN and network/internet related drivers, then disable them. then re-enable them, then restart computer.
if none of these works you do have a hardware issue cuz thats covers all the soft ware issues possible except maybe a virus, but u did a clean install so.... probly not you can get to the drivers from computer management

you will need to open up your network connections click start control panel network connections this may vary depending on your operating system look for local area connection if you see a red x or a yellow exclamation or question mark you will need to update or install the driver or it could be firewalled
If you are trying to connect through a modem/router the driver should have come with a disc provided by your ISP internet service provider or your motherboard disc
you might have to connect the usb lead to your modem to get a connection then
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to network adapters should see a yellow question mark? right click install drivers if you cant find the driver hopefully one of these will help you Latest

Can not locate net work adapter

Possible cause:

The hard drive contains all the necessary drivers that makes the computer function and that includes Internet connection. When you installed the operating system and all other software it does not mean you installed the driver for the motherboard which contains the drivers for the LAN.

Run the drivers CD that came with the motherboard. If you don't have the CD. contact the PC manufacturer for the driver CD. Otherwise, you can purchase an add on NIC(network interface card).

Network Card

Yes the network card is the same ethernet card. If your intel pro/100 is onboard try to re install the driver from the motherboard drvier. Check also in the manager device it the network device have a complex to the other device. Follow this, Click START then RUN type DEVMMGMT.MSC then enter check if the network adapter have a yellow question mark. If you found the network adapter right click and uninstall it.and click the ACTION and click SCAN FOR HARDWARE CHANGES. After the installation finished try to connect to the internet. If still the same even you input the correct ip in the network configuration. Buy a new LAN card it's not expensive, because usually the onboard lan is easy to damage or not working properly you can installed and configured it but you cannot connect to the internet.

Problems with MSI K8N Neo3 motherboard ethernet adapter

Hi mush187, the SMbus controller is basically your chipset drivers. If for some unseen odd reason it did not install correctly you will not be able to install other drivers. (which seem to be the case). Here is the link to you're board & it's drivers. (click on it).

This is nVIDIA's web site. This is where you need to go in order to download & install the latest chipset drivers.

I understand if you can't get you're network driver installed you can't get to the nVIDIA site. So can you install a PCI network card, (temporarily)? The cool thing about nVIDIA's web site is it will scan your system & suggest the proper updated software.
It's only a suggestion.... In either case the MSI link above will allow you to download the drivers you need.

Good Luck!
If I can be of more service, just ask.
