Question about Samsung SCX-6320F All-In-One Laser Printer

Printer will not print

I have had a Samsung SCX-6320f printer for about a year, and it has printed consistently without a problem until this week. I have tried every software fix with no success, and also swapped out USP cables. As a last ditch effort I just installed the Samsung printer on another computer to see if I could get it to print. The computer recognized the printer as new hardware when I plugged in the USB cable, and then successfully installed the driver from the CD. But when I try to print (from any program, including Notepad), I simply get a timeout error message saying printing failed. The Samsung will copy, fax, fax forward to e-mail, etc., but will not print. Just for grins, I used this same computer and just went through the install process on a nearby HP printer, and it installed properly, and then it actually printed.

Any suggestions on what might be going on with the Samsung?

    trickieone - I really appreciate your help on this. Answers to your questions:

    1. It doesn't print from either computer, and yes, on the new computer it said new USB device found (and correctly identified the Samsung model number).

    2. Tried different USB ports and different USB cables on two different computers (the ports and cables work on the other printer).

    3. I've looked at the properties page, checked Ports and even tried different Ports.

    4. Have not done this on the 1st computer, but would think the second computer would have worked since I installed it from scratch.

    5. Turned off the firewall on the 1st computer, no change. The second computer has totally different firewall software than the 1st. Also, both computers print to all other printers without a hitch (I have four other printers that all continue to work okay).

    6. I clear the print queue each time a job will not print. (Although it is confusing that occasionally the print job doesn't hang in the queue...but it still doesn't print.)

    7. I've tried setting the Samsung as the default printer on both computers (it has been the default printer on the 1st computer for a year, until it stopped working this week).

    8. I've checked that it is not in Pause.

    I'm wondering if the card in the printer may have gone bad. The fact that the Samsung used to work fine, that it now doesn't respond to two different computers, and these two computers continue to print to all other printers without a problem, seems to point to the printer itself instead of a software problem...but I'll try any other suggestions. Thanks again.

Some thoughts.
When you plug it into the computer that it will not print to, Does it tell you there is a new USB device found?
2. I am sure you have tried different USB ports on the computer.
3. Right click your printer to access the properties on the driver and select Ports and see if that somehow was changed.
4. Just delete the printer from the "printers" page in control panel.
Then click add printer and search for it.
5. Make sure the computer does not have a firewall that is blocking the printer.
6. Make sure there is no job error in the print queue.
7. Be sure the printer is selected as the "Default" printer. If there is another printer loaded on the computer, is the wrong one selected?
8 Make sure Print Pause is not selected.
I do suspect once you open the properties on the driver page you will find the problem. Unless of course your USB port or ports on the computer have failed.

Fax not receiving

if there are "empty toner"

I have a SCX-6320F copier and it has 'scanner locked' on the screen. How do i resolve this?

you should have a locking switch around the scanner assembly that is used when the unit is being shipped. you need to unlock it for the scanner to work.

Printer prints very light

its may be happend due to the Dust in the LSU unit.

remove the LSU from machine and open. Then after clean all the mirrors and polygon .

after that your problem should be solved.

There is a green button just on the top of the paper exit, you just need to pull it, and to shut down the multifunctional and then turn it on again. I don´t know if you already did this, hope this can help you.
