Question about RCA P61927 61" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

RCA P61927 NO POWER!!! HELP

My TV last week kept shutting off and back on by itself occasionally for about a week. Yesterday it will not turn on at all it just makes a ticking noise inside like a watch. I did open the back and noticed a lot of dust so I cleaned it and checked for lose plugs nothing looked lose or burnt back there and checked the little fuse also was good. Does anyone know what happened? Is it woth repairing it. Thanks ADAM

If it is a ctc or ptk 195 then you have a bad flyback High Voltage transformer: the large white kindof square thing with big red wire coming out; Must get original RCA part. If picture was good before could cost you a total of (average) $300.00 according to which repairman.

Most likley what it could be is an interferance in the TV. Modern TV's have a feature that will shut itself off when it is not receving a picture. For instance, after so many minutes of "snow" it will shut off.sometimes this can make the TV think there is no signal at shut itself off.Anyway, I suspect its an interferance issue. Perhaps moving the TV further from the source of the interferance might help.

Okay there is something wroung with the frount panel there may be debris in where the button is depressed or seomthing is depressing the button or it may be just going out on you.

1. take off the frount cover and examine the channel up and down make sure its clean and there are no debris.
2. if that does not work replace the controller board aroun $65 bucks.

I do not know your zip code but you can give these folks a shot www.teexp.com you can call and ask how much it would cost to replace this controller even though they might not work in your area they still can give you a price.

Thanks

The power button on my tv pushed in

The board is fine, unless u cracked it. You need to change the buttons only. Shouldn't be hard to find. Look for RCA microswitches.

Turned on the tv, heard sizzling sound and it immediately shut itself off. Won't turn on now. It had been turning itself off periodically now and then for the last couple of weeks with no noise and then...

sounds like dust collected on the internal parts which after enough time can cause it to stop working. either have tv repair specialists replace the mother board, or replace tv
