Question about Westell Wirespeed LiteLine 6100 (B9961001002) Modem

No Internet light, but an Ethernet light that blinks?

I recently signed up for Verizon DSL, received all the equipement in the mail, and set up all per instuctions, but... No internet light.
Called Verizon, they sent a tech out to check the lines, etc. He checked the lines at the nearest office, and found them "BLOCKED" as he said.
That was last Thursday, and I am still waiting for a Tech to come to the house, and install the equipement.
Just curious,
Has anyone else had this problem and has it been resolved, by Verizon?
I am seriously considering Changing DSL providers, even before Verizon gets it fixed if it is possible to fix that is.
The tech did say that I was near the end of the line for the DSL service, so I may not get it anyway.
I do live in the country or at least in a rural area.

For westell 6100 modem usb driver installation follow the steps for windows xp
-close all programs
-unplug usb cable from the pc
-insert installation cd from verizon
-plug usb cable back to pc
-wizard will pop up found new hardware
-click next then follow instructions
-select usb connection on the installation

My dsl light keeps blinking and I can't get on the internet because it won't stop blinking

  1. Step 1 Ensure that your AT&Tmag-glass_10x10.gifDSL self-installation kit is complete. At minimum, it should contain aDSL modem, an AC adapter, an Ethernet cable, a telephone cable, severaltelephone filters and an installation CD.
  2. Step 2 Installthe telephone filters on each telephone jack that you have a phoneplugged into. Install a dual phone adapter on the jack closest to yourcomputer if you have an answering or fax machine, telephone or analogmodem in the same room. Then plug your telephone equipment into thefilters. Connect the telephone cable that was provided with yourinstallation kit into an unfiltered telephone jack.
  3. Step 3 Insertthe installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. If the installation programdoes not start automatically, click Start > Run > and browse tothe CD-ROM drive directory to find the installation file.
  4. Step 4 Connectthe telephone cable that is attached to the unfiltered wall jack to theback of the DSL modem. Connect the Ethernet cable to the back of themodem and to the Ethernet network interface card port on the back ofyour computer. Connect the AC adapter to the back of the modem and plugit into an electrical outlet. Power the modem on.
  5. Step 5 Checkthe modem lights. There should be at least two lights lit. These willhave labels such as "Power" and "Ethernet." However, these labels maydiffer depending on the model of modem you received in yourinstallation kit.
  6. Step 6 Completethe software installation. Enter your chosen username and password whenprompted. Check your modem to see if the light labeled "DSL" or"Internet" is lit. Open a web browser window to see if your DSL servicehas been successfully installed.

I have had problems connecting to internet all weekend (internet - red light), am on now but internet and ethernet green light keep blinking, is this ok.

No because dsl light should be solid green light. You need to contact your ISP to check if there is a problem on the network.

Try a different ethernet cable. It could be that your cable is bad. I had that happen to me before. My was from the modem to the router. If it was working at the store and not at home, then it is cable. It is should bea cheap fix.

Ethernet light went off and won't come back on

I had the same problem. It seemed the modem reset and the address changed. I called my ISP (Verizon) and explained the problem to them and they had me online in no time.

I have a westell 6100 modem also- The light your are talking about always blinks- it blinks as long as the internet is working (it is sending and transmitting data)

Blinking light means that firmware on your DSL modem just got updated. The modem is pinging the Networ/Computer connected to it. If you open your Modem Page you will see the difference, unless you never have done it before.

Constantly blinking Activity light

Well, you are very correct with the activity light blinking and the increased blinking except the fact that modem will encounter a problem in future...
The 5 different lights on your modem namely Power, Ethernet, DSL, Internet and Activity have their own indications and explanations.
1. The Activity Light indicates the amount of activity that is takin place on the computer on the Internet though the activity might blink even when you are not browsing. This can be explained by stating that the computer constantly keep sending signals  about it being connected to the internet and any other acknowledgements..

So, you've got nothing worry about unless the Power or the Ethernet or the DSL or the Internet light Blinks....
Cause they are the resultants of a fried modem(check for the adapter), faulty LAN connections, interrupted Dsl line and the account verification failure indications respectively.....

Its your network problem! your network doesnt support more load at DSL lines! you must complaint to them about this! Its not hardware malfunctioning its all about network issues!

My ethernet light is blinking

Make sure you have internet. The ethernet light is blinking because what ever u have plugged into it is talking to the modem. The modem will then take that request and ask for it on the DSL/internet line. Make sure the DSL light is steady on and the internet light is on or flashing with activity.
