Can not connect to the internet with my new itouch. Have tried all the resets. My password (which is correct) does not seem to work. Says unable to join network. The network is working fine with 2 other computers. Just got the itouch and was hoping to fool around with it. Very frustrating. Help!

Inside of your router, try switching your wireless security to WPA, and use a less complicated passcode. Its an option. Hope it works for you. Putting it as a CL so someone else may give a second opinion.

What kind of wireless password do you have? WEP or WPA? This makes a difference as Apple devices use a different algorithm with the WEP encryption that the rest of the world. If WEP, put a '#' in front and use the hexadecimal version of the password.

Itouch connects to the internet everywhere except home

This is due to your router, not your iPod. I've had to reset the router several times in s row before I could connect to the internet. I'm not sure why the third time worked when the first two didn't. My suggestion is to keep trying repeatedly.

ITouch not connecting to wireless

Do you still got your manual? If you do go to the back and find your page that has a number for your apple ipod type, then they should be able to help you with your probelm. If you don't have it, go to your ipod website and type in there search box WGR614v6. Then it should have help or support or firmware and it should fix it. Hope it works.

Apple ipod itouch connection to wireless internet

don't let the iTouch connect to the wi-fi network it detected automatically - try setting up a new wi-fi network from scratch.
the setup screens will ask for network name (the SSID) the security protocol (probably WPA-PSK if you are having all this trouble) and the password (pre shared key)

should be all you need - good luck

ITouch won't connect to internet

I FIXED MINE THIS MORNING!!!

try this! If your iTouch says you are connected to your network but you can't surf and you've been able to connect in the past...you have to reset your network connections on your iTouch.

Go to Settings
Go to General
Go down to Reset
Go to Reset Network Settings
It will ask for your iTouch Passcode...enter it
Then, hit the red "Reset Network Settings"
After that, go back to "Wi-Fi" in Settings...
...and connect to your network again. It might ask you for your WEP password, if it does, enter it.
The IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router and DNS fields should now have entries in them.
Surf Away!!

Hope that works for you. It worked for me!!!

Wifi connection & itouch

I finally discovered the problem. I have a Linksys wireless
router, so when I tried to log on with my iTouch, I got the
message "Unable to join network "my network name" when
I typed in my password. One day, after many trys, I tried
typing in the network security key for my router, and Voila,
it worked. For some unknown reason (to me), the iTouch
recognizes the the network security key as the password.
