I have a Kodak Easyshare C643 that suddenly acted like the batteries were dead. I tried 4 sets of new batteries and the camera won't even power on. The camera is 13 months old.

    Any suggestions?

Same problem here! I attempt to turn on my camera, and it blinks green for a second then starts blinking red and turns off. I know my Kodak rechargeable batteries are fully charged (and I've tried leaving them in the charger overnight in case, to no avail), and I've also tried purchasing different kinds of batteries, but nothing is working.

If anyone has any advice, it would be much appreciated. Is my camera completely broken?

My easyshare z885 is not even two weeks old and I have the exact same problem. Turns on long enough to extend the lens and then shuts itself off. I have contacted kodak and will see what they have to say. I was going to take it back to the store I bought it from, but it is comp usa and they are going out of business so they are not accepting returns. Bummer!!

I have the same problem. Kodak Easyshare cx7430 suddenly only shows red light when I turn it on, no matter what batteries I put in it. I know at least 2 other people that have had the EXACT same problem, rendering their cameras inoperable for no apparent reason.

I think maybe kodak designed these to fail forcing people to buy new cameras after a year or 1.5 years.

Won't be buying Kodak crap again, that's for sure!!!!!!

I also have this problem. Maybe they are designed to fail immediately after the 1-year warranty expires? I'd not buy a Kodak again if this is not repaired...

That would be really unfortunate if true... I loved that camera before this happened! It was pretty much perfect. Now I know why it was so inexpensive! Ugh... I'll probably be an idiot and end up buying the same one again.

The camera won.t turn on the battery charger blinks red when trying to charge both of my battreies

I had the same problem with flashing red light on my charging dock (within 10 sec after 2nd green light came on). I did fix it. There is a rust brown securing tab that holds the battery in place. Mine must have a broken spring..... So, I put the battery into my camera, pushed securing tab over the battery and then wedged a toothpick tip to keep battery tab in place. Once back on the charger, I had no more flashing red light. The battery is charging correctly. The problem was that the battery was not held down into place correctly. I now just have to unwedge the toothpick tip to remove the battery...but not really an issue at all as I keep the battery in there all the time. Very easy fix!!!
Others suggested to reseat the plastic dock. But mine was secure. Somewhere there is not a good battery connection that is causing the red flashing light. I am thankful to figure it out. Hope this helps you.

Camera Won't Turn On; the 3 lights are Fashing Red

Sorry, didn't see the part about 2 batteries and chargers. I've had the V603, it broke, and I took it apart. It is a very complex little camera and I don't recommend opening it up past taking off the front cover and rear cover.

The CCD is just behind the lens assembly, and the motherboard is behind the aluminum cover for the slot for the SD card. Most components on the motherboard are surface mounted and trouble shooting or soldering is tough! You might try cleaning the battery contacts using a pencil eraser (just go through the battery compartment opening). Even with new batteries, if the battery contacts on the camera have any corrosion, the camera won't be getting full voltage.

If you take the front or rear covers off, you might see if you can see any loose connections by doing that. Other than that, probably a lost cause. Sell your camera on E-bay as one that needs repairs. There are many people who would buy it to use the LCD from it to repair their 603V. If you like this model, I'd look for a cheap replacement on e-bay.
