Question about Acer n311 Pocket PC

1 Answer

Acer n311 I have an Acer n311. For the past few months after I have been using the pda for about 3-4 minutes the screen freezes, and none of the buttons respond (to switch it on or off). The the only way to get it to work is to remove the battery and re-insert it, and do a soft reset. But often it will again freeze during the boot-up process. I thought it might be the battery, but a new battery has made no difference. Anyone able to help?

Re: Acer n311

Hi. the question is, which ROM version do you use. just go to settings and choose about... there you can find info about the current ROM. look for the last two numbers (they should be between 16 and 24 which is the latest and stable version) here is the short guide how to proceed with the update an here you can download mentioned ROM. I advise you not to restore your device afterwards, it won't work!

My ipaq 214 wont boot up. it just freezes on the HP screen. Ive tried pressing the reset button like over 100 times but it just freezes again. Ive also tried hard reset and that dosent work either. I have...

You could have a corrupted program on your PDA. You need to contact HP and have them re-flash or upgrade the firmware of your PDA and it should work much better than before.

Have a great day!

Acer N35 PDA/GPS

maybe you have to many files on it. have you tried to erase some datas and some applications? if so, then resesting it may be applied by using a usb cable and a software for reseting it, and a pc is required.

but I recommend to you to let a person who can do this, reseting your pda may cause a fatal damage to your unit if not properly reseted.

hoping your pda will be in good condition after..

please don't rate me badly..^^

Slow respond

The best solution to these problems is hard resetting your device. A hard reset will bring your PDA to it's factory default state, so your PDA will be as fast as it was when it was brand new. But this process will erase all your stored data (Such as adress book, messaged, appointments, tasks, pictures, ...) so you should consider having a backup of your PDA to your PC with a backup software before you hard reset your device. So later when you hard reset, you can recover the personal data with this backup file and continue using your PDA faster.
To hard reset your PDA, you must press the on/off button and reset button at the same time (reset button is a small button that needs to be pressed with your pen, and usually it is located in the bottom of the PDA). And later, wait a couple of minutes and the windows will be reinstalled and load up with the starting page of the screen alignment. After you completed all the settings, you can recover your data from your backup file (from PC).

Can't get soft reset screen on Ipaq travel companion rx5915

Try This:-
To perform a factory reset and return your HP iPAQ to factory settings:

1. Press and hold the Quick Launch and Rotate Screen buttons.
2. While holding these buttons, use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button on the HP iPAQ until the device restarts.
3. When the HP iPAQ restarts, release all of the buttons, and then remove the stylus from the Reset button. The HP iPAQ restarts and powers on.

I have a Palm TX. 3Years old. 6 Months ago had to calibrate Touchscreen every day. 2 months ago had to calibrate touch screen 2/3 times a day. Recently can't calibrate touch screen. Targets go into loop...

Same happened to my 3 month old TX. I just recharged it, and all was OK! Sounds strange at first, but in my hometown, it is very humid, so maybe it got some moist inside and that caused some variations in the power or battery or voltage... dunno, maybe you need some cleaning, or try to calibrate while plugged.

Hope to be useful!

Touch screen issues

i recomend either a flip cover(if available) or a thick screen protector that lowers sensitivity.

Acer N50 sometimes it doesnot turn on

Hey, I had a similiar problem with my pda few years ago. It didnt turn on, or then the startup info screen came up and the pda just froze or shutdown. I had to hardreset also to get it runing. After a few weeks of this the pda died. It's possible that your pda is about to reach its end. There could be other problems. One thing you could try to do is reinstalling the operateing system if you have such. You can also buy newer operating system upgrades but might not be available for your product and it might not fix the problem if it is a hardware issue. Good luck.

PDA intermitently powers up then freezes on "Palm Powered" screen

I had the same issue. What you need to do is to hold the power on/off button than press the reset button. The screen turns off (get black) than the will ask you to make a hard reset (which end up deleting all datas). The Palm will power on like the first time you turned it on after you bought it. Than depending which version you have it will possible ask you which language you will like to have as default. After selecting you neet to setup the rest. If this is done you sync it all data will come back :-)
