Question about Symphonic ST419E TV
I lost the remote
I hooked up my dvd player
can't get the input to change
bought rca universal remote but everything else works except the input function
is there anything I can do to fix this? I'm totally broke and can't buy another remote for awhile now.
I want to watch my dvds.
SOURCE: no input channels
Universal remote control are normally programmed for basic functions, ie. chennel up down, volume up down, numbers, etc. This is even written in the manual that they do not guarantee that all functionality can be used. Here are your options: 1. Try all the codes that match your TV, there is a slim chance that the other code have the functionality that you need. 2. Buy the original model remote control. 3. If you know of someone that have the same TV, buy a universal remote control with 'learning' function and copy the signal from the original remote control. I have the same problems before. Now I use my Casio wrist remote control to copy the special functions such as A/V so that even if the original remote control is lost, I can still use these functionality

SOURCE: I own a symphonic 27" television
I had this problem on a symphonic 27 inch TV I just bought from a friend
who no longer had a remote. The thing with the menu and buttons on the
front of the TV doesn't actually change the TV to true game mode. I
don't know what it acutally does, but it isn't really in game mode.
When it is in true "game mode" you can't change the channels until you turn game mode off. What I did was bought a universal remote (a specific one that someone
told me about) for 8 bucks at walmart and I was then able to switch to
game mode with the Input select on the remote. The remote I bought that
actually worked is this one: http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Magnavox-PM435S-4-Device-Universal/dp/B00006686A/ref=acc_glance_ce_ai_-2_1_tit/002-3174824-8273629
Make sure you look at it before you buy it and make sure it has a button that specifically says "input" on it. I know that some of the universal remotes don't have an input select button or one that doesn't work. As long as you get a Philips-Magnavox that has that button, you should be ok. Much better solution that paying 30 bucks for a new remote specifically for the TV. Hope this helps.
