The last two nights I have set the heater on 55%.In the morning I slide it to 68%. It runs though some light blinking for a few minutes and stops,withEE2 out of fuel.I press the red reset for a second and that fixes it.I clean the little line screen.but saw nothing in it.I wonder about it staying cold all night has made it fail. I'll work on senser. Jeff 99603

    Hello,

I am having an EE2 error pop up on a OM22. The fuel supply looks good - filter is clean and supply is 16 inches above unit.
I can see a flame in through the window, but a minute or two into the cycle it will shut off.
If it is a dirt flame sensor, where is it. I do not see anything listed on the exploded view in the manual.
If I have to open the burner to clean, what is the easiest way to do this? It looks like a major disassembly.

    Any help would be great!

Hi sammysamual,

My business is Laser Heating Service in the North Pole/Fairbanks areas of Alaska. An EE2 error code is usually fuel related. What does your Toyo do before the EE2 code shows up? The firing process is the burner button blinks green for 7-9 minutes, then it clicks up to the medium, yellow light which starts flashing. That is when the fuel pump starts pumping. If you hear a fairly audible tic tic, or thump thump coming from the fuel pump then that is your indication that the fuel pump is starving for fuel. You either have a fuel line restriction, too little fuel, a clogged filter, a clogged sump screen, or rarely, a failing fuel pump. Usually, it is a fuel line restriction.

If you hear no tic tic or thump thump and it just goes off on EE2 then the problem is in the burn chamber. You may have a carbon chain in the chamber causing the flame sensor to temporarily short out. You can clean the flame sensor, fuel nozzle, and igniter to resolve this problem until you can get your Toyo tuned up.

I have not heard if you got your Toyo issue resolved or not? Maybe I am not understanding this forum very well...to solve a problem, there needs to be back and forth communication usually. I hope I helped you, but if not, please write back. Thanks, Toyotech

Steps to fix a EE2 Code on a Toyo 30?

It is a fuel issue, when opening that valve with the fuel strainer out. If your fuel was right it would gush all over. More fuel or lift tank. I hope you have a filter at the tank, if so change the element. (its cheap and good preventive maintance.

My toyo lazer 30 won't start, and the EE2 problem comes up.

With an EE2 message you have a problem with the stove igniting during start up. If you continue to try you will end up with an EE22 and the stove will be locked out. If so, un plug for 20 minutes. While you are waiting check out you fuel system. Low fuel, no fuel, dirty filter on tank and stove. Be sure to bled the air off the top of the filter when you change it.

Keep us posted.

Toyo Laser 56 EE2 message--no flame? valves open and clean filter

You might of got type 2 fuel oil. If it is a smaller tank sometimes the fueler doesn't clear the line before filling and you'll slug down some type2 which will snuff the flame.
Check to see if the filler kinked a line outside while filling.
Just an Idea...

Toyo stove laser 30

EE22 means that your Toyo failed to ignite 3 times in a row. You need to unplug it for 30 minutes to reset the circuit board. Then plug it back in, push the red reset button on the right hand side in the little hole towards the back and push the Power button. Your Toyo should ignite after that barring some other problem caused by running out of fuel.

I am assuming that you ran out of fuel which caused the EE2 error code originally. Sometimes, when you run out of fuel you can get water, ice, debris in the fuel line causing an obstruction or limited fuel flow. You may also get an air lock. You may need to crack the fuel line at the back of the Toyo where there is 3/4 nut and bleed the line. If you see no fuel or a small quantity of fuel then you will need to thaw and/or purge the fuel line in order to get fuel to your Toyo's fuel pump. There is also a screen in the sump which can get plugged with rust, debris from the bottom of the fuel tank so you may need to clean the screen in order to get fuel to the pump.

Toyostove Laser 73 EE2

The firing sequence for a L73 is blink, blink, blink, on the green burner light, then it clicks up to the medium, amber or yellow light...that's when the pump kicks on. If you hear click, click, click, or thump, thump, thump, that means the pump is starving for fuel. The problem is from the carburaot/sump back to the fuel tank. You may have icing in your line or a line restriction, no fuel, plugged fuel filter or plugged sump screen. You can thaw your fuel line, until you have a free flow of fuel and then push the red restart button on top of the sump. Try to restart your Toyo.

If you follow the firing sequence and hear no click, click, click or thump , thump, thump and your Toyo goes off on EE2 then you can have a dirty flame sensor...the whilte wire running to a U shaped part that is the ground for the entire unit. You can take ythe ytwo phillips screws out, turn the part to the side and wiggle it out. Clean it qith a green scrubby or sandpaper and put it back in. Be sure it points stright down. Then take out the igniter which are the red wires. Put a long screw driver in there and rattle it around real good. You are trying to shake any carbon cxhains off the burner ring that can be "shorting" the flame sensor. You can also removee the 1/2 inch flare nut from the fuel nozzle...brass yellow colored metal part, and put a paper clip or wire down that about 3 inches. That will clear any blockage in front or inside it. Put everything back together, hit the red reset button on the sump and re-fire your Toyo. You might get it going in this manner. If not, you may need a tuneup because your Toyo is too sooted up to run correctly. Try these things and post back!

EE2 code for toyo 3

What Does EE2 Mean? Laser 30, 56, and 73 model Laser heaters cease operation and display
the EE2 code on the control panel (instead of the clock or temperature settings) when the primary
flame rod on the heater fails to sense a flame during the first 5 minutes of the Ignition and Pre-
Heat cycle. On the Laser 55 and 72 the heater will stop and the red Reset lamp will light rather
than the EE2 code. (Note: There may be other reasons for the reset lamp to come on but much of
this information will apply.)
What Can Cause An EE2 Error? The primary flame rod is the only sensor in the heater that
can cause the EE2 error. Thus, if it occurs, either there is (1) no flame to detect, or (2) the
sensor failed to detect the flame. The flame rod is located on the lower 1/3 of the burner. It is a
heavy wire with a ceramic insulator. A single white insulated wire connects this device to the
main circuit board.
