Question about Whirlpool MH7130XE Microwave Oven

Microwave made loud popping noise

As the title says. My wife reported that when she pressed the start button that the unit made a loud popping noise She stopped it. I turned it on again to see if it tripped the breaker or anything and it looks and sounds to be operating normally, but it will not heat any thing. I am concerned with this loud popping noise. I heard it in the front room and it definatley sounded like an electrical type of pop. I have it unplugged right now. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Scott

When truning on the microwave there is a loud noise. It obviously sounded like something was stuck and the oven would not heat.

The magnetron is bad. Probably cost about $50 or $60 for the part. Not too easy to replace, but it can be done.

My goldstar above the stove microwave popped and now won't heat. Everything else on the unit still works. Is this a problem that can be repaired? Thanks.

Did it make a loud pop like a firecracker?
Sounds like the High Voltage Diode shorted out and it probably is making a low or loud growling noise now..... ???

Saw sparks and heard a pop noise when we hit ''start'' on microwave

We just had the same problem - spark, loud noise, and then dead. At first I replaced the ceramic fuse and the same thing happened immediately. A local appliance store tested the transformer and found it was "bad." I purchased a used transformer from the store for about $35. I installed both of these myself with little effort.

Not working plmv169dc

HI, the sound you herd was the noise filter and running diode. these important components have failed at this point. you will need to replace these components asap, if possible. this will fix your issue.

The Magnetron Cut-off fuse will need to be replace as well. this will blow if there is a malfunction within the unit.

Ge spacemaker xl 1800 - no heat

HI, the loud popping noise was the Magnetron tube. this is the main heating device. the noise filter is also damaged and, should be replaced as well.

In conclusion, replacing the Magnetron tube and noise filter will fix this unit.

Kenmore microwave loud popping noise when start

That sounds like maybe a high voltage wire or component is running too close to the chassis or one of the components connected to it.

Gruesome as it sounds, sometimes a pest can get inside the works and can move wires around or be killed, then its carcass can conduct electricity and cause arcing.

It may instead be a failing high voltage diode.

To find helpful exploded view diagrams and get part numbers, you can just enter your full model number (66562619200) at the Sears parts site.

Here are some links you or someone you know can use (in order given) for test help, but
