I have a feeling I might be able to find the router setup information if you can tell me the correct answer to the prompts needing answered by this link

Virgin Media Broadband Help

The model number of the Belkin router may be of interest if detailed configuration instructions are required and because there is the a report of an issue with a specific belkin router model on the Virgin Media site that appears to require a firmware update to work well with that particular internet service.

I cant connect to my internet using a ethernet cable, it say limited or no connection yet after going through this with virgin media for an hour turns out the problem is to do with me not them, please

if you were able to connect earlier on this computer and if you can connect on another system/ computer using the same ethernet cable and virgin media connection as of now it does mean that the issue is computer specific so you can try a system restore thru start>>programs>>accessories>>system tools>> system restore and restore the system to a earlier time when you were sure that internet connection worked. you can also try forcing ip and dns settings which Virgin media can provide. also you can try changing the speed and duplex settings to force 10mb half duplex and see if it works. Good luck

Default password not working for admin access

In case the default admin password is not working you can reset the router to factory default setting, press and hold the reset button for few seconds (It is at the back of the router near the DC Power Jack). The LEDs will then blink and the routers factory settings wouls be restored.
creativetech_17.jpg

Please note that after RESETTING THE ROUTER to defaults, ALL SETTINGS WILL BE LOST AND YOU HAVE TO RECONFIGURE IT. Generally, after hard reset you get the connectivity, however, you have to make the connection secure etc.
Please, refer the product guide/manual and make configurations as per the details provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

GoodLuck!

I plugged in my wii LAN adapter and tried to test it but didn't work?Wired Connection

Make sure you are using the Wii lan adapter made by nintendo
  1. Make sure you are using a "broadband" internet connection, such as high speed cable or DSL. Slower connection types, such as dial-up, may not work properly with the Wii console. If you are unsure what type of connection you have, please contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for more information

  2. It is possible that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) is not compatible with the Wii console. For instance, if you need to login with a user name and password when you try to go online for the first time after restarting your PC, your ISP is likely not compatible. Please contact your service provider for more information.

  3. Your access point (wired router, broadband modem*) may have certain firewall settings that are preventing a successful connection.

What do I do to have my wireless working away from my Internet connection and wireless Router. I have 2 Ethernet cables one going from my router to my Laptop and one going from my Router to my Internet...

Ok. As per your statement your laptop is working perfectly , when you are connected your laptop with with the cable wire.So the network cable is OK. So you have to configured the wireless cable in your laptop when it is connected to your laptop. After connecting the cable wire to your laptop you have to findout the gate way of your ISP ( Internet Service Provider). To find out the gate way , kindly follow the following instructions.

First findout the IP address , subnet mask, and Gateway addresses of your ISP ( InternetService Provider ).To find out the above mentionedaddresses first open the control panel -> network connections -> local area connction -> properties -> Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPV4) OR Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPV6)according to your ISP -> Properties

By the systematic selection as mentioned above you will get the IP address, subnet mask and Gateway addresses. Kindly note the Gate way address of your ISP. Then enter the gateway address in the browser and open the window. Then a control panel / a window will appear. It will prompt you to enter 1). user name, and 2) password. If you are having the user name and passwords provided by your ISP , kindly enter them in the window and click to open. Then the particulars of your ISP will be displayed in the window. Then click the wireless icon and click to enable. Hurray ! your laptop will work perfectly through wireless. If you are not aware of about the 1). User name and 2). password , you must approached to your ISP and try obtain the same for working of your laptop wirelessly. Provided , that you have to configure the wireless enabling for both the ethernet cables and there after save the changes , after finding the 'GATEWAYS' if both the the ISP's seperately.

Unable to connect to internet via router.Computer says signal strength is excellent.diagnostic check highlighted DNS problem.I think VIRGIN (my isp) have recently changed their DNS nos. Virgin (my isp)...

If you're using an ADSL connection the details you need are below.

Settings for an ADSL connection through a telephone line.

Open a web browser and log onto your router.

Find Internet Wan > Connection Type.

Set the Router to use PPPoA, type in your User Name and Password in the spaces provided. If you do not have a Service Name or do not know it, leave the Service Name field blank. After you have typed in your information, click "Apply Changes". After you apply the changes, the Internet Status indicator will read "Connected" if your Router is set up properly.

WAN > Connection Type PPPoA
User Name > firstname.name@adsl.virgin.net (or virgin.com or whatever)
Password > *******
Retype Password > *******
VPI/VCI > 0 / 38
Encapsulation > VC MUX
MTU > Leave as Default

Find Internet Wan > DNS.
Select Automatic from ISP
(Virginmedia DNS servers are Primary: 194.168.4.100 Secondary: 194.168.8.100)

Find Lan Setup > Lan Settings
Ensure DHCP Server is set to On

If the details entered are correct the router will show connected and the internet lamp will be green.

Do the configuration on a wired connection.

Only internet light is blinking

According to the user guide, the modem is trying to connect to the isp. If it is continually blinking, check all your cables. Once you are satisfied all cables are properly connect contact the isp to find out if there is an outage in your area and if not they can help you.

I have a modem supplied by virgin media can i

Well, Virgin Media provides Cable Internet connection and with those connections you can not use this ADSL modem. If you have internet services from Virgin.net then only you will be able to use this modem with them. This modem will not work with Virgin Media connection.

Hope this answers your query.
