Hi, just check whether you have set any timer. It may possible that you have set some timer, thats why it keeps shutting off!!

Or may be due to power fluctuation but it happens rarely

My unit flashes "fan check" and keeps shutting itself off

try to plug it off then look at back and try to blow to your fun or try to spin it with something a bit and plug in it back it should work and do not keep your fun to close to wall or cables

My gateway 510x keeps shutting itself off. Sometimes after 5 minutes of booting up sometimes after 30 seconds. What could be the problem? Tried removing dust from the inside but that did not help.

sounds like your processor fan shut down and now your processor itself shuts off when it begins to over heat replace fan asap and don't keep trying to turn it on because you'll burn it out
