Can a HP scanner [all in-one] & the factory

Can a HP scanner [all in-one] & the factory installed orbicam [Bison brand] BOTH work for my Acer Aspire 3680 2354 laptop? The Orbicam no longer works. The green light is ON in the swivel camera bar imbedded at the top of the display screen. Does that indicate it is turned on/working?
The control pannel only displays the icon for the scanner attached after purchase. The control pannel message says to turn on any device not seen. When the orbicam icon is clicked, the microsoft msg: Acer OrbiCam Application has stopped working. Solution generated: Acer OrbiCam has stopped working properly.

A newer version of Acer OrbiCam is available for download that might solve this problem. Acer Inc. recommends updating to the latest version of Acer OrbiCam to take advantage of security and stability improvements. So, I download & installed the updated driver from Acer. But get the same messages & displays. Driver Detective & Driver Robot both said I had the latest version before I downloaded the newest version from Acer.
Do I need to remove my scanner to have the orbicam work?
It did work when purchased, but I had no uses for it then & didn't explore it's use. I remember it used to display my image when I signed on, but have forgetten when it stopped doing that. Thanks for any assistance that anyone might have.
