Question edited for clarity and spelling 'weel' > wheel.
You can try another font wheel, but it is likely to be the same. From a distant memory of using Daisy Wheel Printers, isn't there a setting you have to change depending on the pitch (size) of the font and wheel you are using? If not is likely needs cleaning, servicing and lubricating.

Since you are not exactly sure what model Smith Corona you have I can only guess at the trouble you are having. Look on the left side of your keyboard for a slide level for the 10, 12 and 15 pitch selection. If it is in 15 pitch select either 10 or 12 pitch. Or, "If" one of your key tops have the word, "pitch" on it you might need to hold down the code key and the key that has the word, pitch on it.
Hi.. usually there is a "CODE" key on the keyboard. This is to be held down while pushing the pitch key (10 -12- 15) may say Pica-Elite-Micro. On some models there is a actual switch to move to the 10-12-etc. I hope this is helpful and solves your Problem. Squipps
