Hello ahmid7 …

There are three potential areas for your solution (listed in descending order of probability).

1. Power Options

Are you familiar with Windows' "Power Options" control panel module? If in fact your system is going into sleep/stand-by/hibernate mode, this will be the most probable culprit, and you won't need to proceed to steps 2,3. With it you can tweak all things related to power saving (e.g., sleep, stand-by, hibernate, timed automatic MONITOR and/or hard-drive shut off, etc.). Just make your desired (re)adjustments there.

[Control Panel > Power Options]
... OR ...
Start > Run > type "powercfg.cpl" (without quotes), then hit Enter.

Once it launches, you'll probably find most everything self-explanatory. If not:

  • Search for "Power Options" in your Windows "Help and Support". Then review "…Common Tasks…" and/or "…Overview…" related items.
  • Post here again and I'll be glad to walk you thru it.
2. Monitor's OSD (On Screen Display / Setup)

If step 1 is unsuccessful, it may only be the monitor (CRT/screen/display) itself that is turning off. Somewhere on the monitor there will be an OSD (On Screen Display / Setup) button/switch of some type. There you may be able to make the needed adjustment. If necessary, refer to the monitor's documentation (i.e., User's Manual, etc.) for further details.

3. System BIOS

If steps 1+2 are unsuccessful, it may be your computer system's BIOS accommodates auto/timed shutoff of your monitor, hard-drive(s), motherboard. If necessary, refer to your computer system/BIOS documentation (i.e., User's Manual, etc.) for further details on how to adjust.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If none of the above provides solution, please report this, because it may be that your system is NOT in fact going into what you perceive as a sleep type mode, but rather is experiencing an emergency shutdown. In this case there are a couple of most likely causes. However, there's no need to cross that bridge unless it actually exists.

Good luck, and thanks in advance for posting back ...

How to take my Lenovo monitor model # 9227-AC1 off safe mode

it is not just a monitor there is PC there,
no PC stated, they work as TEAM. ok.
that being said, 14year old monitors.
no not SAFE but power saver mode,
also called SLEEP MODE to save power losses, (Energy Star and GREEN )
the manual covers this. 9227-AC1 (you missed typing fully this)
'Lenovo ThinkVision L171 9227-AC1 17" LCD Monitor.' AC1 is non USA. this is very old monitor and all have this OLD style internal sleep mode. covered in the manual. circa 2005 old. most this old are dead now from dead CCLF back lamp tubes. but the manual shows push menu key on front then in the OSD MENUS WE THEN FIND sleep timer (clock) Inside the monitor,
http://www.manualsdir.com/manuals/165841/lenovo-l171.html if the PC is silent the monitor goes to sleep. if the PC goes to sleep wiggle the mouse or hit space bar until PC wakes up. if sleep is bad in PC turn sleep off. if PC is dead, then that is wrong. test the monitor in 2nd PC if monitor works there the monitor is ok, and PC1 is bad.

Hey my Gateway FPD1530 monitor is not working properly. I turn it on and it works. But as soon as I plug in to my computer it goes into sleep mode. Is this a power supply problem?

It goes into sleep mode if it does not get the video signal from your PC, or like you said, it may have power supply problem. We need to narrow down the problem first by trying this monitor with another PC or another monitor iwth this PC.
If it is the monitor problem, then you will need to do an in-depth troubleshooting, please read my guides first before DIY repair.

Computer goes to sleep before it even starts up

Hi there, it appears as though the Power Options are set too short a time and the PC is going into sleep mode. Go to Start menu/Control Panel and look for Power options. Set them all to "never" This will prevent her PC from going into sleep mode. Good Luck.

Monitor goes into Sleep Mode immediatly upon turning on computer

Ok. I think "sleep mode" means that your monitor might not have a tight connection. Tighten all connections. Also, push the power button on your tower. When you gegt back, go to screensaver- power settings- and from there you can adjust.
