Make sure your ADSL router has wireless capability or wireless function. Verify that from your Internet Provider. If your ADSL router doesn't have wireless function, you need to buy a separate wireless router then cascade it to your ADSL router, from there your airport must be working fine.

SOURCE: I would like to set a secure wireless network.

click start click run, or type in the search box if using vista, type CMD and press enter

type ipconfig
make note of the default ip address and type that into your web browser in the address bar
might ask for username and password try admin for both , as you havent mentioned what your router is or who you getting internet from

look for wireless settings and in there you should find security
this will then allow you to set a wireless key
choose WPA rather than WEP as its more secure
enable it, save settings and restart the router

search for wireless connections on your laptop and enter the security key that is on the router and you should now have a wireless connection

SOURCE: I added a security code on my Westell 327 for my

If you have set your security (WEP/WGA) you now need to enter the pass key when you try and connect on your computer.
If you have no luck, try change the passkey again, make sure you use the same upper/lower case on the password.
You may have had caps lock on

Are you trying to connect to the wireless network?

If your wireless network is secured then make sure that you have the correct network key of your network.
If you are not sure about the security settings then open the setup page of the router and check the wireless settings.

If you are using old Linksys router then make sure that your router is running on a latest firmware.

In the top right corner, you will find airport icon. Click on Airport and you will see your network. Select your network. Enter the password and you will be able to go online.

I can't login with my MAC.. is there something I must do different with the password? I can login with my Ipod and other P.C.s are able to login.. Just my mac can't... PLese advise

If you are connecting wirelessly, make sure the built-in airport on your mac is enabled. Then proceed with the wireless settings. Please check if the wireless settings on your airport matches the wireless settings of your router like the SSID and wireless encryption. If your encryption is WEP, you need to put a "$" sign(without the qoute) before the WEP key like $1234567890. You don't need to put the $ sign if your wireless encryption is WPA. You might as well try to connect your mac wired to the router and verify if it is online. Verify that your mac doesn't use static IP address on the airport's tcp/ip, it should be on Automatic or DHCP.

Some time what happer router will start blocking the data , in that case what you have to do is that you need to reconfigure the linksys router . First press the reset button for 30 sec , then remove the power for 30 sec and now your router is ready to reconfigure with your setup disk .
if you dont have the setup disk , i am pasting some router reconfiguration steps and i am sure that will help you out .

Please Double Click on the Internet Explorer and on the Address bar,
type in and Press Enter.
Leave the Username blank and type "admin" in the password.
Step 04:
Configure Wireless Settings:
1. Please click on Wireless tab on the router's setup page.
2. Make sure that the Wireless Network Mode is set to Mixed.
3. Change the Wireless Network Name or the SSID from Linksys into your name.
4. For the Wireless Channel, please change it from 6 to 11.
5. Enable the Wireless SSID Broadcast
6. After that, please click on the Save Settings button.
Apply Security Encryption

1. When the router's setup page appears, please click on the "Wireless" tab.
2. When the Wireless area appears, click on the "Wireless Security" sub tab.
3. When the Wireless Security area appears, Change the Mode to WPA personal.
4. Enter the password of your choice in the WPA shared key (it should be minimum 8 characters) and then save the settings.
Step 05:
1. Under Basic Setup tab and set the "Internet Connection Type" to
Automatic-DHCP. After that, please save the settings.
2. Click on the the MAC Address Clone sub tab.
3. In the “MAC Clone” section, set the option to Enable.
4. Click on the Clone Your PC’s MAC button.
5. After that, please save the settings.
Step 06:
Power Cycle:
1. Unplug the router’s power cable.
2. Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable.
3. Wait for 30 seconds.
4. Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its
lights to stop blinking.
5. Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights stop
6. Finally, Test the Internet connection.

Lost Net Connection after iMac was disconnected from Network

Cable modems don't usually have this issue so I'll assume your on a DSL connection, 56K modem, or someother phone related variant. You were most likely setup for a connection through your Airport using local IP settings on each machine and when you moved the machine you reconfigured yourself with a DHCP address. There are two solutions. (1) Reconfigure every machine for DSL (2) Configure your airport for DSL and connect everything to it.

Unfortunately the process from one provider to another varies slightly. But for that reason I generally only recommend cable for multi-computer housholds sharing a web connection.

My solution was that I changed the wireless mode from "B,G and N" to just "B and G," and then it worked fine.

Cannot connect iMac with DI-524 over wireless! Please help!

The most likely answer is that you have an access control list (MAC Address filtering list) set up on your router and have not added your Mac's MAC, also called your Airport ID to the list but there are other possible causes.
Double check that you do not need to add your MAC address to the list, that you did save changes when you removed security from your router and that your PC can still connect.
The hardest part of moving from PC to Mac is learning to trust your computer to do things for you, with Microsoft's OS's you don't just trust the automated set-up wizards because even in the rare circumstance that the wizard actually works you invariably have to finish the settings manually.
With your Mac the exact opposite is true, if you try to do everything manually it'll invariably mess things up, where as using the wizards and trusting the computer to manage things on it's own reaps obvious rewards.
If Airport set-up wizard is asking for a WEP key and leaving the field blank doesn't work you can be comfortably sure that the router has a key set up on it. (BTW: Always be mindful of the fact that WEP is pointless, even 128bit.)
Check that your router has not been hijacked and that you have indeed removed the security from your router, is it possible that you have a WPA key set up on the router? Unlike WEP, WPA and especially WPA2 actually secure your network (in as much as is possible).
Another major cause of connectivity issues for new Mac users is having Norton Internet security installed, for a PC user the idea of not having full-on paranoid security installed is anathema, the idea that your Mac's inbuilt firewall alone is plenty of protection (at time of writing) Other than that ClamXav antivirus will protect your Mac form any viruses that may appear in future. Norton Internet security for Mac is often pushed on buyers by stores that don't know any better, to be honest Norton Internet security for Mac is an awful lot of hassle and performance loss for little or no advantage.

Using a Mac is different to using a PC but once you have got used to using a Mac you will not be able to change back, once you have learned to trust your Mac to do things for you, you will find Windows (any version) to be painfully time consuming, unstable and fiddly to use.
Post back if you are still having problems. :)
