Restricted caller Ever since I purchased my iphone all my outgoing calls are listed as a restricted caller.  Why is that?  I have the same service as I previously did and I did not request this service.  I haven't had a problem with it and now I'm trying to do business with someone who has asked me to "disable this annoying feature".  Is that possible?

Look at your phone records at the end of the month. Some cell phone and home phone providers list numbers that are restricted on the phone bill. Simply note the date and time the restricted call came into your phone and look for that date and time on the print out of phone calls made and received on the bill. The actual phone number may be there.
Have a block put on your phone that notifies callers that you do not accept phone calls from restricted numbers. This will force the individual calling you from a restricted number to unblock his phone number and call you again, if he wants to contact you badly enough.

Install a toll-free number to use on your phone. When you have a toll-free number (with most providers) and only give out that number instead of your traditional phone number, you automatically receive the numbers of everyone who calls because you're paying for the calls that come to your phone.

Did u tried system restore???

FDN(Fixed Dial Number) if enabled, allows you to restrict your outgoing calls to the limited set of phone numbers that are included in the Fixed Dialing Number list.

What you may want to do is contact your phone company to see if they have a service that blocks all calls from restricted numbers. Legitimate callers will be able to unblock their numbers to call you, but people won't be able to hide who they are just to harass you.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you could do.There are few entities or sales calls or probably an international call which might have this restriction.Only your service provider would be able to help you in this situation.

either the line is expired or not in service, please contact your service provider, it has nothing to do with the phone. Also try checking if outgoing calls are restricted on barring settings

Well what does it say? does it say restricted or unknown number? if it says "restricted" then the number that they're calling from is more than likely on a list of restricted numbers that the city has... my family's house used to be like that so whenever my parents called it would way "restricted" even though I had "home" in my contact... this is usually the same list that the city uses if you don't want to be listed in the phone book

There are 2 places this can be set, and with AT&T, it tends to be set at the network level. Meaning to turn it off, you have to call them and request that they disable caller ID block on outgoing calls.

maybe check on the ringer type for restricted numbers- you can change ringers by all calls, restricted calls, and caller id numbers. your incoming restricted numbers is probably set at none or silent

There are a few services that make it easy to find the real number of a blocked or restricted caller. They do cost money (some as low as $5.00 per month to unmask numbers) to use with your cellphone.
You can even get the name and address of a blocked caller. Check into caller id unblocking services. Hopefully that will help you out.

it depends on where you live and what telephone company you are with...you will need to contact your telephone company and ask for the temporary ( call by call ) caller rejection unblocking code.( eg the code will be different in the UK compared to say the USA ) Please note that this will reveal your number to the called party thus enabling the call to go through. ( assuming you have your number permanently withheld as is implied by your comments )
