Hello, I have a Mikomi 3 Button Mini Optical Mouse AM-9170U. The problem I'm having is that the red light underneath the mouse is on but the mouse cursor won't move. When I plug it in nothing happens, only the lights underneath light up.
It was working fine untill it suddenly stopped working. Please help me with this.
Thanks

- Hello, I've tried it on another surface but it still didn't work. I'm worndering if I plug it into my brothers laptop which is on Windows Vista and if it works will the drivers work on XP?
On an optical mouse, two thngs happen. The light shines out and a sensor reads the reflection almost like a camera image. Try some other surfaces, particularly ones which are not shiny. If that doesn't help, install the mouse on some other computer. If that works, reinstall your drivers on the first computer, removing the old ones as best you can (Control Panel...Device Manager...etc.). If it doesn't work on the other computer, check for any switches on the mouse (that would be uncommon) and for warranty coverage. Otherwise, the light sensor is probably broken and there is little you can do.

Microsoft's Elite Wireless keyboard and mouse is an excellent combination for use, according to your criteria. It costs less than $65.00 and is easily connected to replace a wired keyboard and mouse.
I have been using two of them for years now, and have never had a problem with them.
They eliminate excess wires, and work like a charm.
