Motorola L6: how to change the # VM dials

Hi Folks,
My nephew gave me his old L6. He says he "reset" it. I put my SIM in and all seems fine except VM. When I press and hold keypad 1, it dials his cell #. I want it to call my ATT voicemail number which I have. How do I change that?

Ok, I tried this fix, but the VM won't give me a setup menu. The phone tries to dial VM, and then gives me the message, Call Failed. Anything else I can try?

L6 phone

My phone also fell into a bucket full of water. I just gave the phone to the service center for repair and it's now absolutely fine.

I would suggest you to do the same. Also, don't try to switch on the phone as it may lead to short circuit in your phone.

Thank You

Unable to make and recieve calls

I flashed and flexed the set but to no avail, tried a software update but no update was available from motorola. I then went to the Security settings of the set and restricted all outgoing calls and restricted all incoming calls except the phonebook entries. Then I dialed my mobile using a landline which was on my phonebook and my phone started recieving the calls, then after that I allowed all incoming and outgoing calls. This solved the problem. I believe it is sheer luck because I tried that step earlier on the same day but it gave no result.

Insert sim

Try cleaning the sim card slot of the L6 with a pencil eraser, then cleaning it out with cloth. After that you can try again, if it still says insert sim, then you might need to reformat or reflash it, bring it to a mobile phone technician...

Motorola l6 phone, on orange, keeps displaying the ''insert sim' error.

i was having the same problem, when u place the sims card in the slot, make sure the little metal clip is slid up over the sims card to insure connection. I didnt realize at the time i was suppose to slid the that clip over the edge of the card. As soon as i did this it worked fine.
