Polaroid PDM-0714 7" portable DVD player

Used to play DVDs just fine, but now has a "wrong region" error message no matter what DVD is inserted. How do I change the region code back to region 1?

No, I don't have a Polaroid remote or a universal remote. The Polaroid PDM-0714 7" portable DVD player doesn't use a remote control.

Otacon is correct, it does have a "remote". You might be missing it.

So, go to "setup", arrow down to preferences, arrow down to defaults, select. This will put it back to the original factories settings.

This unit does have a remote control unit that comes with it. Just because you do not have one, does not change the fact that you cannot do what you are asking without it. you should be able to use a universal remote to do this with. If you buy on for 10 bucks or less, it certainly is a lot less expensive then buying a whole new player now is it not? Good Luck

Hi,

1.- Turn on the unit on having the cover open.
2.- Press "Set-Up" button and advance to the far right-hand tab "Preferences".
3.- Using the remote control, Enter the follow code: 1379.
4.- Choose the desire region: 1-6 or 0 for all regions
5.- Once the region is chosen, press enter.
Good luck!

Do you have a universal remote? If you do you can use that.

The only way to do this is with a remote control...either an original Polaroid one or a universal one. Sorry...

It doesn't come with a remote but it can be used with one because it has a remote sensor on the front right edge.

This could be that you are using NTSC or american region DVDs or the connections that you are using if you use a SCART to composite video incorrectly then you will get a B&W signal into your TV

DVD Player that repeatedly says NO DISC for Polaroid PDM-0752

either needs to be clean or the REGION needs to be set up to 1 or ALL , LETS TRY WITH cleaning the OPTICAL LENS with a dry Q tip , gently rub a few strokes at the lens , and give it a try, if NOT then try to set the REGION to 1 or all, if still not reading the disc , then have to replace the optical lens, good luck , AJ

Polaroid DVD Player PDM-0742 not playing dvds

I was a circuit board engineer for the on-chip set. there was a major techical issue with the units but due to the cost of investments by polariod, they decided to sell them to the public anyway. the promblem is in the chip that only works for a very short time before is overheats and the system will show "bad disk"
