1TB Seagate Free Agent Desk, silver model. Light blinks and drive makes clicking noise on startup. Ive run power cycles with no change and it happened just about overnight, never dropped or damaged. Not Recognized by windows, clicks on and off intermittently.
Clicking from a hard drive means it is dead or dying. If you have critical data to recover from the drive stop using it at once and contact a data recovery service.
The only way to repair the drive is take it apart and rebuild the faulty component(s) at this point. Unless you are able to obtain schematics and parts from Seagate it will be cheaper to replace the drive.

Hi, each time I reboot Vista 32bit, its like the computer doesn't remember it, the settings have gone (eg the lights which I have turned off come on again) and Vista tells me its found it now what to do. I have checked autoplay settings but this has made no difference.
