LG 47" LCD TV - 47LC7DF Clicking Noise

My TV has a clicking noise when I first turn it on but after about a minute the clicking stops. I also am having problems with the sound. I have an HDMI cable from the cable box to the TV and then two RCA plugs from the Audio Out on the TV to my Samsung home theater system. Sometimes the sound just goes away. I tried connecting two RCA plugs from the cable box directly to the home theater system and the sound works fine.

    I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM! Mine does the clicking noise sometimes when I change channels and then sometimes I lose sound all together when changing channels. I complained enough until Circuit City replaced it and guess what...

    The new one does it too!

    I called LG and they said they had never heard that one. Yeah right! They told me to shut it off and turn it back on. The LG person told me that was would reboot the internal computer. Whatever that means! I am using all HDMI cables and just recently purchased a sound bar. I turned the speakers on the TV off and just used the sound bar. It did it then too! What the heck!

    I had the TV replaced and I also changed the cable box (HD-DVR). I was told (and read on the Internet) that some of the newer cable boxes sometimes had problems with the sound through the HDMI cables. I requested an older model cable box, which they gave me, and my sound problems went away. There was no clicking on the new TV but then in a few days it started clicking again when powering up and powering down. Apparently this is normal because I have seen many reports mentioning this clicking on many different models and brands of TVs. I have not had any problem with the sound since I switched to the older model of cable box.

I was told that these clicking noises (which happen on my Magnavox LCD too) were due to the "power required" at the internal switch. Seems that the power required to immediately turn on the TV is too much for a standalone household outlet, so it "surges" power in a series to get enough there. Hence, the clicking sounds are actually mini power surges to send more power to the internal circuits to turn the TV on.

If your set is like mine, these noises generally stop after a minute or two, correct?

SOURCE: LG 47" LCD TV - 47LC7DF Clicking Noise

the old saying is that any issues will likely show up in the 1st 3 days if you run it for 72 hrs. if it dosent fail then it will last.
other than going to the show room and seeing if their unit does the same.
they will likely want to send a service guy to check it out and decide for himself.

Lg 47 ld500 lcd tv wont power on

Not likely as you are hearing the main power relay click and it is after the fuse.

First place to look will be the power supply board inside the set--look for puffed up caps and or check voltages etc.

5_3_2012_2_44_29_pm.jpgcaps should have perfectly flat silver tops with no puffing up on top and no brown material leaking top or bottom.

Lg tv no sound or picture, blinking green light but back light on

The common problem is the main board, instead to purchase a expensive main board, you may try to re-flow the soldering on the main board, it is the only way you may fix the main board at your home.
Re-Flow Soldering Procedure for LG Main Board

    1.Pre-heat your kitchen oven to 385 degree (No more than 400 degree);

    2.Put the main board on a card board (like a pizza box board) in the oven;

    3.Heat it for 10 minutes (No more than 10 minutes);

    4.Turn the oven off & leave the door open, at this moment, do not touch or move the board until it colds down to the room temperature.

    5.Install the board in the TV & try it out.

I have a shadow on my 47" LG LCC7DF HDTV LCD TV

This is usually caused by dirt trapped between the lcd filter layers and appears when the screen is pressed, pressing the layers togehter producing an internal dust smear..This can only be removed by stripping the lcd down and cleaning the filter layers

LG 47LC7DF LCD TV turns off with a pop then turns back on.

Sounds like a overheating issue. Try facing a large fan blowing across the back of the unit and see if this changes anything. If it does, it might help to blow the back out with compressed air as dust might be helping it overheat.
