it is a poly-v belt, you have to place V of the belt 1 by 1 slowly turning the pulley, you have no bender or setting, when the belt is in place it is at right tension.
Got it, go to "makitausa.com" and on the right side top type in your model number in their search box, follow the links to the page where you can download the manual or a parts breakdown. The manual is 20 pages long. Let me know if you need more assistance
Probably not the proper way but it works. Assuming you have removed the side cover and the brace and are looking at the drive belt. I put my machine on its end so I was looking down on the belt. I put my belt on the first 2 groves of the small pulley and started the belt on the larger pulley (it will only go on about 1/3) using your allen wrench turn the large pulley clockwise while not letting the belt slip off the top. Now your belt should be started on both pulleys. From there it's a simple matter of walking the belt on one or two groves at a time by pushing down on the belt as it enters the pulley. Do one pulley then the other until it's completely seated in all groves.
Usually, the motor position is adjustable by loosening the mounting bolts. Once the belt is on, snug the motor until the belt has about 3/4 inch up/down movement midway between the two pulleys. Hope this helps!

I've had really good luck with Tool Parts Direct. They send emails when something ships and are upfront about the parts they order direct from the manufacturer.
Part Number 225071-8 is $10.79 and ships in 10-14 business days.
It depends on the planer blade set that you are using. If you are using the the 2 sided blades there is a guage that goes with it to set the blade depth before installing. I would strongly recommend that you go to Makitatools.com and type in your model number and download a copy of the owners manual for specific instructions. Let me know if you have any problems finding them
