Question about Canon imageRUNNER 5020 Copier

1 Answer

Line of text removed/too light to read

I have a canon IR5020i, when running a test sheet through it on or two lines, about 1/4 inch of space, is faded out. It is in the same spot each time and when I run duplexing it is mirrored. I have cleaned the machine throughly and am wondering what the next step is before I call a professional repairperson.

Re: Line of text removed/too light to read

Is the image rubbing off ?
The mirroring sounds like you are having a problem with the fuser.
What is sounds like that is happenig, there is a bad spot on one of the fuse rollers causing the image to rub off.
Othere than that, if you have done the proper cleaning, there could be a drum cleaning issue.
What you seem to be describing is a fuser issue, based on the mirrored immaging.

Run a a deep cleaning cycle then run the alignment test and realign the head correctly. Then print the test sheet again. It sometimes takes a few cleaning cycles to get the ink flowing correctly especially if the prinetr is in a warm environment and has not been used for a while.

When i print there is a vetical faded space/line down the page. i have changed tone but it does not help. any suggestion?

Use a dry towel with the toner removed, and wipe the 1 inch wide window above where the drum goes. Toner and fingerprints on that glass will cause the problem you are seeing.

Faded text every few lines- Canon printer

When you print photos you print in Max dpi, for this no faded lines anywhere. Probably you have a problem only in black color in print head.
Мay be it's partially clogged or partially defective.

It prints but it's all faded and a white line runs through each line of text. the blue prints very well and all my ink tanks are new.

Remove the print heads and soak the tips in alcohol free glass cleaner for about an hour and try them again. The glass cleaner breaks up the crystallized ink in the print heads BE SURE TO USE ALCOHOL FREE glass cleaner alcohol sets ink.

I have a hp8250 and about every 6th line is faded

you need to change the printheads but first take a cotton swab dip it in water and then clean the printheads copper contacts and the place the printheads sit inside the printer .place the printheads back inside and now try to print if u still face the issue replace the printheads and then check whether it still gives a problem if it does call in to hp and they will replace the printer.

Problem with Canon MP730

hi, i was having the exact same problem with my printer. and i also tried reinstalling the driver. after reading your post i decided to see if the printing problem occurred when i used the other colors, and it looks like it's only a problem with the black ink. i printed out a sheet with the text in red and another in blue and they came out perfectly. but the black grid that surrounded the blue text, still looked problematic.

so... that means that the black ink is the problem. i haven't tried putting in a new cartridge. did you say that your problem occurred after you put in a new black cartridge, or did you try putting in a new black cartridge and you still had the same problem?

I have blank lines through my printouts

Run the cleaning cycle. If that doesn't work, try to use an alcohol soaked swab on the print head. Some of the jets are clogged.

Eadch line of text is slightly faded at the bottom from laserjet 1100

It is possible that the transfer roller needs replacing as this causes it. Have you recently wiped clean the black roller that sits under the toner cartridge if you have you may have damaged it.

Best thing is to replace the transfer roller very easy to do and not expensive.

Hope this works for you and please rate me
Thanks J
