I have a Acer Aspire 5920G,and have just insalled winXP.The problem that i have is that when i turn it of,it just stays with the message:windows is closing, but it never actually turns off completely

What version of windows are you running? If you hit the Windows Key (typically between the ctrl and alt keys) + P you can cycle through the display modes. You may have it set to computer only, however Win Key + P will change the mode. Try setting ti to Duplicate, Extend, or Projector only.
Plug first you computer o rather laptop to your TV with the right cable then right click to your desktop. Select properties then select settings then in the display drop down box choose number two click apply and hit ok.
Then before you close the lid...hit FN (color blue key)
then hit f5....it will switch to your LCD to your TV. Enjoy.

Hello I think your graphics card or screen is broken on your Acer Aspire 5920G, one thing you can test is to connect at external monitor to your laptop. If you dont get any picture then its your graphic card broken, if you get picture it is your screen. also try to adjust the screen light.
