Question about Sirius Satellite Radio Sirius SIR-PNR1 Satellite Radio Receiver
How did the dealership resolve the battery draw issue. Did they rewire the Sirius for you. If so they could have wired the unit wrong. If you have a newer vehicle most of the wires in the dash are a very light gauge and most fuctions are controlled by, what's called a Body Control Module. Some of these wires are not a very good place to draw power from not onlt could it damage your Sirius Radio it could damage the electronics in your car as well. I suggest getting it looked at by a professional. Then go from there.

Sounds like this problem is very new...did it start to do this at first or just lately? I hate to sound ugly on this topic, but OUCH! I am just going to let you guys know to look at the manual in trouble shooting. Try to reset the radio...here is a trick while in the car. Open the car with the radio(sirius radio) off, wait 10 secs close the door, turn it on...reset then call sirius and go from there. (RESET)

SOURCE: Can't get XM channels
Goto sirius.com. You will need to access you account and find out if your radio is upgradeable for XM channels. You can find that out once you try to add xm to your account.
If it isn't you can get a free or a discounted radio from them to do it by calling customer service up. They do that for existing customers.

Turn the unit on for about 15 minutes. Cycle through the channels, starting from channel 1. You won't have to go through all of them, but this should get it working. If not, go to your account online, or call SIRIUS and have them refresh your signal.

Okay, definitely do not spend $500, that is crazy, but I think I got your issue here. Since the Sirius / XM merger, there are sometimes 2 different stations, on Sirius, the other XM. With channel updates things have changed a bit. For instance, your channel 144 is probably now channel 123. Channel 36 can be found going to channel 81. So basically replace those two presets with the new channel numbers, 123 and 81.
Hope that helps!!
