I think you mean idle speed. Is the a.b.s. light on as well? If it is most likely cause would be the over voltage protection relay if it is an E class-that relay powers up your idle speed control unit and the a.b.s. module. If it is an S class it has a base module which is basically an over voltage relay. If you a.b.s. light is not on the firs thing I would check is your throttle linkage micro switches. Rule those out and if they are o.k.. I would look for a vacuum leak. Is your check engine light on-I need more info to properly diag. your vehicle.I think you mean idle speed. You have to check ur idle speed controller, that is located at the back of battery protected by a plstic shield, remove the shield and remove a small controller located next to the computer compartment and check the fuse, the problem wd b solved by replacing the fuse otherwise u will have to replace the idle speed controller, if this will not fix the problem, ur computer has to be reset by company, hope this will fix the problem

Hi ignition on put in reverse handbrake off chock the wheels so you don't get run over also don't have engine running , Put your ear right to the sensors you should hear a faint clicking if the are working , Also mercedes star test equip would tell you you would have to go to a merc dealer
rough idle can be the cam and crank sensor or the timing has shifted from weak timing belt/auto adjuster. also the idle valve on intake is sticking or and fuel pressure valve is not working properly if engine runs fine at speed then the adjuster on timing belt can be the fault, as the pressure on the engine turning the cams is putting the right pressure on the belt. if it is through the hole speed ranged the fuel pressure could be low. if engine goes in to limp mode or takes time to speed up it can be timiming alinment out and or the cam sesor or crank sensor.
It sounds like a fuel delivery issue. Mercedes recommends replacing the fuel filter every 60k. If it has been longer than thast since the filter change start there. Fuel pump relays are another common problem on this era. They are located behind the battery. Remove the plastic cover and you will se 2 black relays( yours may have a mass relay if it is a 90 model year, it will have a plastic knob on top that you turn to the left to unsecure it) IT will say kickdown on it the climate control is the other relay and it will say klima. Look for signs of corrosion on the solder pins. If your fuel pump(located at the right rear) is very noisy when it operates I wouild recommend replacing it. During this era of Benz about the only way to diagnose this would be to run a bunch of fuel pressure tests and to drive vehicle with a meter on the relay and on the pump to see if the relay cuts out or the pump cuts out. I always recommend to do both pump and relay because they can cause one another to fail. good luck.
fuel mixter regulator (air flowsensor)(offenhauser) all are same part, has electronic box on side, regulator and air guide housing may need to be replaced,
a.b.s.seystem normal.+we change main relay .problem does not solve
