SOURCE: Maytag Dishwasher Latch Sticks
John, I had the same problem and just disassembled by removing the dozen or so screws around the inside of the door, lifting the waterproof panel, and pulling up the latch assembly to see what was broken. In my case there were plastic pieces broken off of the latch handle and where the latch hinges on the back of the control panel-the latter piece is $50 to replace. unfortunately. Good news is the disassembly and replacement will be easy as a DYI. Sorry this is too late to help you, but maybe others will have the same problem. Bruce

A 4 wire cord should be hooked up accordingly:
1. Black wire to either outside terminal post.
2. Red wire to the remaining outside terminal post.
3. White wire to the center terminal post.
4. Green wire to the frame screw.
Also, make certain that your breaker/fuse box is wired according to local codes. If your dryer is not properly grounded through the fuse box and the green wire is attached to the frame then, a ground wire would need to attach to the green wire and then to an earth ground. This could possibly be your 5th wire, but you need to investigate it before applying power to the dryer.

SOURCE: Maytag MDB7130AWB dishwasher blows circit breaker.
These have been known to leak water into the door panel. If so the water can cause a short. Your breaker is keeping the machine from lighting up. Check any seals that may have been braeched in the door. Start at the dispencer latch
rubber.
