Re: Screen problem.

Does your LCD look like this or similiar? (below) If it does, there should be a female plug similiar to the picture also below.
Hook smaller end of cable to your laptop, the other end to your external monitor. Turn on your laptop. If the vertical lines are not present then its probably your LCD, which will more than likely have to be replaced. If lines are present, then like tom19511 said it may be the video drivers. I've had this same problem with my Toshiba Satellite p35 5 times already. Toshiba had to replace my LCD each time. LCD's are more expensive than an inverter. Good luck, I hope you get it fixed.

Re: Screen problem.

Hook up an external monitor to it, and see if it does the same.

If it does then the LCD screen is going bad.
If not try uninstalling and reinstall the video drivers

Vertical lines on my screen

If after rebooting, they are still there, try an external screen. If the fault shows up on both, you have a GPU issue, if not you have a screen issue.

My laptop is having a grey vertical line.

That sounds like the screen is failing. You can check it by plugging your laptop into an external screen. If the problem is still there, the laptop has a fault, if it has gone, your screen is faulty.

Left 1/4 of the screen is black( vertical) the remaining has multicolor lines running vertically

This is an issue with your LCD cable that hooks your LCD to your motherboard.

You can try this site for the part.

I have two vertical lines down my screen Is there anyway to get rid of them?

It sounds like your graphics card is jolted. I don't know a true "fix it" solution, but what I would do is call Toshiba.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Good Luck!

Does the laptop have integrated or dedicated graphics?
This could be a problem with the graphics drivers. Go to the Toshiba website, and get the latest drivers for you PC, this should solve the problem. If this doesn't solve it, than it looks like the screen / graphics controller / GPU is failing.

Fine lines running vertically in screen

First, which model of Toshiba notebook do you have? Check it's bottom label- it will say "Toshiba" and have the model on it.
Then, try to update the display drivers. You can download them at If that doesn't work, you may have an issue with the BIOS or the display itself.
