Question about Sony KDS-R60XBR1 60" Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Lime Green Screen

First, I use to get a green screen in the middle of wathching a program. I was able to correct this by scanning threw the input selector to restore the picture. Now I am getting this green screen and after cycleing threw the input selectors, I will get a pit for about 4 seconds and then it will shut off. I'm using a HDMI calbe from cable box. I have switched to componet and the picture is back. Also, HDMI from DVD to TV is also giving me a problem. It will show picture for 4 seconds and then go blank!

Screen suddenly turned lime green. Now when turned on turns lime green then goes to red color

sounds like you're using component cables for or HD, check your cables and make sure they're plugged in with the right color code and make sure they're tight. If you can't find anything wrong try replacing your HD cable whether it's HDMI or component.

When I use the HD input on my mitsubishi, everything on the screen is green???

When your picture has a green shade to it when connected through component video cables(red, blue, green) that indicates that you have the red and blue switched around at one end, since you have a picture, that indicates that the green cable is hooked up correctly, if the picture color isn't corrected after you make the switch, then make sure you don't have a bad cable.(it happens more often than you think) Good luck !

I am told my Hitachi 61SDX01B (UltraVision/Ultrascan) has "Green Geometry"

Sounds like a convergence promblem.

Here are some of the most common symptoms of a convergence problem.

Screen looks 3D
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed in or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence or magic focus section.

Try to adjust the convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Its a fairly easy fix on the Hitachi sets.

You can get a repair kit that includes all the parts from The kit includes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc.
Everything you need to fix it yourself.

Hitachi 61SDX01B

The problem is called green geometry. There is nothing wrong w/the green pix tube.It is critical to get the green geometry

accurate because the red and blue convergence overlays on

the green. If you have more than an alignment issue, that will need

repair before adjustments are attempted.
