Waste grounds I have before had problem where the bit that tips the used grounds out gets misplaced, but usually a bit of iddling gets it back. This time it seems further out and not responding to any cajoling to get it back into place. Tried machine off/on etc

Re: waste grounds

put in dregsdrawer and driptray to the machine and then power on the machine. The machine should do the selftest now.
When it finish the selftest put in the brewing unit again.

Keurig B31 jammed up.~ come up with some tips

Thanks for the tip received that was actually not listed in the the Keurig's user manual.

This morning I encountered my slightly over one month (Dec 2013) old Keurig Mini B31 jammed up, I was only used 3 times so far...:( and feeling quite frustrated after wasted all 3 K-cups to try and find out what went wrong, initially thought it did not punch the hold properly, but still only a few drops of coffee came out from the brew, everything thing seems to work fine, it was just no hot water flowing down.

Tried to clean up K cup bottom needle with clip, but does not help, after browsing though fixya found that the top part needle also really need to clean up (not stated in the user manual), by using paper clips and finally it works again after all the dirt came out from the top part of hold puncher. My tips for people who did not use it daily /very often, they should:

  • Clean up the top needle by running through a cup of water to flow it through the ground coffee excess after each brew was completed, otherwise it will tend to dried up and choke up before you know it.

  • It help to shake it cup to have the top of the cup fill with some air, and it has less tendency to have the ground coffee in block up the top needle.

Hope this tips will help you to maintain a good cuppa!

I have a saeco magic comfort +. It is, all of a sudden, not going thru the rinse upon set up. Then, it is not putting water thru the grinds, and, thus, pushing all grinds dry to waste, not generating...

Don't really like the rinse cycle because it waste water. If you want to rinse the brew unit just push the "scoop button" and not put any coffee in, then push the large coffee. Does the same thing but doesn't use as much water.
Dry grounds is one of my tips.

Jura S90 water leak

This is a POSSIBLE solution: First, where is the leak? are you getting water into the used grounds storage tank? If so you have a bad gasket around the grounds damper. Pressurized water flows through that and into the system to make coffee when all is well. When the gasket, which is nothing more than a large "O" ring breaks the water spews out and gets into the used grounds and waste tray. This is an easy fix except for one thing: it's very difficult to get to the part! The "O" ring can be found at just about any good auto parts store but you must have the old one off to get the proper size and guage. It's a rather thick ring. On my capresso I was able to get the old ring off by feeling around and using a small hooked pick. Use a mirror and flashlight to see it and MAKE SURE TO UNPLUG the unit FIRST. The damper I'm talking about is just behind the flap you'll feel in the cavity where the used grounds/waste tray fits. It's the round object with lots of tiny holes in it an a screw in the middle. The "O" ring goes around the outside of that damper nearest the top of the machine. It's tricky to get to but can be done. The only other solution is to send the machine back to Capresso and have them do it as they have the proper tools to totally dismantle the machine to more easily do the repair.

Bits in my coffee

If you are using pre-ground and you have ground it for espresso, that too fine and that is why you are getting specks. It should be ground to the size of sugar granules.

EMPTY GROUNDS warning will not reset

The solution was referenced in one of the earlier postings but I wanted to clarify in case people are misunderstanding. The two metal contacts at the back of the machine insert into the wall of the machine and tell the coffee maker that the tray is inserted. Sometimes the big, flat, readily visible portion of these contacts get dirty and I think people are focusing on this portion of the contacts. However, the metal contacts also bend down into the tray where they can detect water (basically if there is enough water or material to conduct between the two contacts then the machine tells you to empty the try). This is the portion where you need to focus on cleaning, down in the tray, between the narrow plastic valley at the back of the tray. It will require Q-tips or something to really push down into the tray to clean away from the contacts. I did not have water in the tray but had enough moist old coffee grounds that it was causing the issue. I cleaned this area with water, a toothbrush and Q-tips and ensured it was very clean and dry. I have not seen the issue again in months (my coffee maker is three years old, gets used daily and we keep it relatively clean, but this is the first time we've gotten this error).

Tray wont go back in

This is because the machine didn't run the full cyce or the tray was removed while the cycle was not completed. We found that the best way out of this was to re-insert the tray but without the used ground bin. The machine will dump whatever ground coffee directly in the tray but after that you will be able to remove the tray and put back the complete assembly including the used grounds bin.
