955X7AA-8EKRS2 doesn't start

I am having some issue with my system. I tested the ram, hard drive and graphic card in another system and they are all working. The only 2 things which remain untested are the motherboard and the CPU.

When I turn the system on the the hardrive starts reading for half a second and then stops. The screen remains asleep, nothing is ever displayed. The strange thing is there's no beeping coming out of the system at any point which kind of leave me in the dark to determine the source of the problem.

I believe that the motherboard is working (but could be wrong) as when I take the graphic card out of the system and start it; I get a couple of beeps. However that doesn't mean that the motherboard isn't damaged, or does it? BTW does any one know where i could get the list of what the beeps mean coz they are not part of the motherboard's manual.

please can any one help?

many thanks

Re: 955X7AA-8EKRS2 doesn't start

thanks for your reply however I have tested RAm and graphic card in another system and they are both fully functioning. As I said in my initial post I have managed to narrow it down to 2 things the motherboard and the CPU.
The computer doesn't beeps when I switch it on. It do beep though when I switch it on without the graphic card which makes me beleive that it is the CPU rather than the motherboard... Do you think I am right?
Many thanks

Your pc doesn't give display this is the problem of RAM or GRAPHICS CARD. you must clean the RAM and graphics card with a soft cloth and then affix them

Have a NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX mothrboard.Does it support gddr5 graphics card

Yes, vipinpabraha.

In fact if they come out with GDDR10, it will support that also.

Because a graphics card's graphics memory, runs independent of the system resources.

Would not matter if your motherboard used DDR Sdram, and the graphics card uses GDDR5.

(Yes, I know. The Nvidia NForce 780i SLI mobo uses DDR2 Sdram at 800MegaHertz. Or also stated as PC2-6400. Always wanted one of those motherboards)

Integrated graphics, or also known as OnBoard graphics, borrows from the System Resources. The Processor and Ram Memory.
(OnBoard - ON the motherBOARD )

This slows the computer down when using an intensive graphics program, such as an intensive game, for example

A graphics card has it's own Processor (G.P.U.), and graphics ram memory. It doesn't need to borrow from the system resources.

My PC intel desktop d845grg has 4 frontal leds. When i turn it on it beeps, then only the 1st and the last leds become constantly on and there's no video signal. I've tried a different monitor and...

the beeps are post during post the very first work is done by the ram,all the memory in the ram is first transferred to the hard disk, and remains active untill turned off.

make sure that your RAM modules and Cmos battery are securely seated

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty also check the graphics card socket for dust

a computer needs power and data to travel through every working device and to its continue its cycle and to have and end to function
the beeps are post pre operating system searching for some hardware it could be RAM cd/dvd hard drive or motherboard all of these must have secure connections for the computer to work
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure make sure the connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs all electric current and computer data to travel to and through every working device and have an end to work properly click start right click on my computer so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
hope this helps you

I am using intel 945gcpe motherboard...whenever i start my computer my hard disk produces a sound and processing get stops...this sound keeps on producing and my computer doesn't work....i have 250GB...

If your hard drive is clicking chances are that it is dead. This is not something you can fix. The motherboard will be able to support a 1 TB hard drive and can support up to 2 gb of ram. You can not put a graphics card in there since it only supports PCI. The only graphics card that can go in that slot are no better than the integrated graphics you have right now. I would suggest buy a whole new computer as what you currently have is outdated. Feel free to respond with what you are looking for in a computer and I would be more than happy to help you look for a new computer.

I need to purchase one. How do I go about doing this?

Hello and welcome to fixya.

First of all you need to mention why you have to buy only one motherboard and not any other parts of a computer.
Questions that need to be answered on this matter are as below:

(A) Are you replacing an old/broken motherboard on your computer? -> If so please replace with the same model or one from a similar range of models as this would eliminate any further hardware compatibility issues, especially for old motherboard brands or discontinued brands.

(B) Are you upgrading your hardware of your computer to support more RAM, more hard disk drives, better graphics card or RAID? -> If so please check according to the other peripherals you intend to install (GFX card or amount of RAM or Hard Disks that you have in mind installing) and based on that information order the most appropriate motherboard model.
If you intend to do RAID, many higher Gigabyte motherboard models or ASUS will do the trick. Same goes for graphics cards or if you intend to install dual graphics cards (via SLi technology).
Also, RAM and CPU types are important to buying a new motherboard, please see more for Motherboard CPU sockets, chipsets. As for memory check if it is dual or single channel and check what type is your RAM DDR2 or DDR3 and at what frequency (MHz) they operate.

(C) Do you have some spare parts only and looking to just change a motherboard to setup a new pc from the beginning? -> If that is the case, then you should be looking for lower-end brands like Foxconn, Superchip, Acer etc. These might be also compatible with older hardware and do what you need them to do, but of medium quality.

Overall there are couple of software that can help you gather information about your current system configuration:

1 - CPUZ RAM, CPU, Chipset information etc..
2 - HWMonitor RAM Detailed information (Voltage types etc..)

Please let me know if this is enough to get you started or need more information.

Regards, FixYa.
