Maybe the belt wasn't wrapped around the tensioner pulley near the motor.

Check your ventilation from back of dryer all the way to outside

You asked for the procedure to re-route the vent from the rear to the left side.

Here below are the instruction you requested for venting both the rear and or the sides.
If you follow these manufactures directions and you will be fine

You will find them on pages 11, 12 and 13.
