I want to install driver for webcam because its not working in windows 7 from where i can get this driver?

You will have to go to the manufacturer web site look at the cam name and model and go to the site and click on drivers or support links and find the driver you need and install it do what it says to do and this is about it. Now make sure that you grab the Win 7 driver if there is any support for 7 for it. If not get the Vista driver all you can do it try it to see if it will work with Win 7 it should. So if your cam reads Microsoft Web Cam then go to and go to their drivers this is just an example. Since you did not post what brand your cam was we can only guess at this point.

If you have the installation disc for this cam you can use this and install the driver for it from there. I hope this gives you a better idea on how to do this. Thanks for using FixYa! John

My webcam has stopped working. the sound works but when i try to video call on yahoo messenger it says i have no webcam connected. i have it plugged in. i recently moved and i think my ex roomate probably...

Make sure you have a driver installed for it, is there a program that administers the camera? With the sound working but no video it sounds like a driver issue, reinstalling the driver should take care of your issue.

How do I turn web cam on?

Go to quickplay an then choose the second icon and it'll open a window. At you left you'll a list of application wher you'll find "webcam" and that's it.

Another thing is the problem with this cameras an the windows vista: using messenger or skype sometimes appears a sign that says "it's on use"... so then try this:

Step 1: We need to enable the Windows Image Acquisition Serivce. Here are the steps to enable the Windows Image Acquisition service.

1. Tap Window key (flag key on the keyboard) and R key on the keyboard, at once.
2. You would see the Run window on the screen.
3. Type SERVICES.MSC and hit enter.
4. You would see the services window on the screen.
5. Double click the "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)" service, and under the startup type select Automatic.
6. Click on "Start" button if it is stopped under Service status
7. Click on Apply and Ok.

Step 2: We need to uninstall the webcam drivers. Here are the Steps Uninstall the Webcam drivers from the device manager.
1. Click on start and click on Control panel.
2. Click on "the Classic View" on the top left side of the control panel.
3. Double click on the "Device Manager" icon in the list.
4. Click on + next to the Imaging devices. Now you would see one HP Pavilion webcam or more then one web cam listings under the Imaging devices.
5. Right click on each HP Pavilion web cam and click on uninstall. And confirm un installation if it prompts. (Click on Yes.)

Please do not restart the notebook if it asks to restart the notebook. As we need to download the Latest driver for the webcam. However, please do not install the webcam drivers right away. As we need to install the webcam after restarting the notebook.\

Step 3: download the Latest drivers for the Webcam (it's on website). Please Save the files on the Desktop. Do not install this file right away. We need to install it after restating the notebook.Once you download the file, you need to restart the Notebook. Double click on the downloaded file(ex: sp34746.exe) and follow the on screen instructions to install it. After you complete the installation, please restart the notebook once again.

Step 4: We need to reset the Bios after reinstalling the webcam drivers. Here are the steps to Reset the Bios.
1. Restart the notebook.
2. Tap the F10 key as soon as the HP logo appears.
3. Using the arrow keys, navigate to Exit Menu, select "Load Setup Defaults" and select "Exit Saving Changes"

Step 5: If the issue still persists, you need to reinstall the Bios. You have it also on the website. And then flash the Bios.

Would like to install webcam

1.) insert the cd that came with the web cam
the auto run will start,
2.) connect the web cam and follow the on screen instructions this will do the work for you,

incase you dont have the cd, sometimes windows has the drivers that it need so you can just connect it, If windows does not have the drivers or you lost the cd

1.) get a program like driver magician or ( search it there)
2.) connect the web cam
3.) install and run the program, this will detect, download and install the drivers for you.

good luck and let me know if you need further help

First try to plug in your Cam into the system and when it detects and pops 'windows found new hardware and installing software for it' put in the cd into the drive and choose to find/search the drivers location of the Cd.

If it doesn't not sovle your problem then first put in the CD and install any EXE file (most probably the driver installation file) and restart your PC and then after that connect your Camera to the System hopefully this would solve your problem inshallah.
