Camera not working

Jackboy is onto it, I think if condensation is the problem. But I also think that cleaning of the contacts is a good idea too. You can do this with a pencil eraser quite easily.

Lastly, you could try resetting the camera. This is a fairly easy procedure which involves either going into your setup menu and choosing "reset," holding down the menu key for 5 seconds, or, removing the batteries for a few minutes. It may be that the firmware loading got corrupted and the camera just needs to be "rebooted," which is something that turning it on/off won't accomplish. But after which, you should have the camera reset to factory default settings.

Another tip is to go to the camera's website and look for firmware updates. Download and install them.

Lastly, digital cameras need alot of battery power. ALOT. batteries with a higher mAh - like around 2500mAh would satisfy the higher power requirements of your camera.

You can check the battery with a DVM (Digital Volt Meter) but you may not know how to check the current of the battery.

Just because you have the right voltage, your current can be low, battery no longer hold charges.

This seems like a major error with the camera.
1st thing check the batteries are in good condition and the contacts are clean.
I suspect too that you live in a high humidity zone? is this so
Damp can cause problems- put the camera without batteries and card in a polythene bag with a quantity of dry[uncooked] rice or salt to attract moisture and leave in a warn dry place for a day or so
