Mitsubishi 50705 Error Code 24 problem...

HI ctf1800! Wow! Ur so smart. I don't know what language ur speaking. :( hehe. Is it possible to help me locate all that stuff easier? I don't know which part it is. I don't know how to locate it. Is there a picture or something somewhere where you could locate that stuff for me? I don't know where to start except to open the back of the tv. Are all those things on the board? And how do I know if it's shorted? If it is do i replace it? Is it easy & cheap to buy that piece?

Re: Mitsubishi 50705 Error Code 24 problem...

Hey it might be expensive to repair, i would suggest sending the board it into
on a side note if you do send it in you might want to find someone that knows tv's since you will have to take the high voltage cables out of the tubes.

No Power

Good Day, PCMcGee; To start try these: This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. MAY BE INTERMITTENT, SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK SOLDER CONNECTIONS AT CONNECTOR "DY" ON THE YOKES. 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK C411 2200 UFD 35 V AND C412 10 UFD 50 V, BOTH LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Mitsubishi VS-50705 TV has error code 23, Horizontal Deflection won't turn on.

Unfortunately, problems in the deflection circuit can involve expensive parts. This type of repair is not for the do it yourselfers. It requires proper test equipment and diagnostic experience. Look to spend at least $350 and up. Maybe Santa will bring you a new plasma for Christmas. Good luck

Mitsubishi VS-50705, 50 inch Rear projection TV won't turn on!

most of the time the convergance ic go bad:
but try this:
The 3 flashes of the led when you plug the unit in is the
microprocessor initializing.

This unit has an error code diagnostics.

On the front panel of the unit press and hold the INPUT and MENU
buttons at the same time and hold them down for about 5 or 6 seconds.
The unit should activate it's error code mode.

The led will flash count the number of flashes. It will then pause for
1/2 or 1 second. The led will flash again count the number of flashes.
The unit will repeate this for about 5 or 6 times.

You now have the two digit error code. The first time the led flashed
is the first number of the error code, the next time the led flashed is
the last number of the error code.

12 ----------- indicates no error
21 ------------- X-Ray Protect circuit
22 ------------ Short Protect circuit
23 ------------- Horizontal Deflection failure
24 ------------- Vertical Deflection failure

Most units give a error code "22" short protect circuit. If so check:

If Q5A00 check bad there are other parts that have to be checked or

If you are able to do above call a tech to service the unit
