What kind of amp is this? Model number ks-A204

It is 4-channel audio amplifier ( 2 x 30w 2 x 100w) designed for automotive applications (i.e. in-car music) c.1989
You may be lucky and find a place that will sell you a manual
e.g.,
http://www.analogalley.com/osccart/index.php?manufacturers_id=37
http://www.servicemanuals.net/JVC.sm.audio.html
http://www.schematicfanatic.com/samscit/jvc.htm
http://mglinsky.www5.50megs.com/jvc.html
Perusing the internet may give other odd pieces of information (for example, contained in 'for sale' adverts). You might try contacting JVC support (I do not think they have anything downloadable).

KS-U58 JVC Input Adapter Cable

Just installed a 'generic' KS-U57 (same as the KS-U58, but terminates in a RCA, $7 on ebay) that has the same black box--except I cracked the black box open and found that it is empty (only contains soldered connections). I imagine that the authentic JVC is the same.
I have a noise problem (engine static), but it is because my mp3 player is charged by the cigarette lighter--unplugging it eliminates the noise, so as far as I can tell, there is no need for a noise filter inside the KS-U57.

Help

Hi, Normally, your JVC Car Stereo will not allow direct connection to an Apple iPod. However, there are several aftermarket interface adaptor that will allow you to do so: 1. Connect the iPod to a JVC KS-PD100 which in turn is connected to the CD changer jack of the KD-G720 (rear of the unit). Set the stereo to CD changer external input setting and you're ready to go; 2. Connect the iPod to an FM Transmitter such as the Griffin iTrip (w/ Dock connector) which in turn will broadcast the IPod music as an FM signal. Operating the KD-G720 on FM radio setting will receive the IPod's broadcast music. Hope this be of some help to you. Pls post again how things turn up. Good luck and kind regards.
